Last week’s The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomgameplay showcaserevealed what’s new and what remains the same in Hyrule since the events of Breath of the Wild. Among the standout features were Link’s new powers, which allowed him to get up to all sorts of shenanigans likebuilding boats, going through roofs, and rewinding time.

However, one of the core tenets of Breath of the Wild, and now Tears of the Kingdom, is the thrill of discovery and experimentation. One of the ways that you may experiment is byfusing two weapons togetherto create something more powerful – or ridiculous, depending on the ingredients. In anticipation of the game’s launch, one fan is creating custom fused weapons every day till the game is out.

However, the gameplay showcase only revealed basic elemental infusions and making spears longer, so GameSpection had to use their imagination to come up with these fused weapons. It’s been four days since they started – right after the showcase – so that means we’ll see 44 variants of fused weapons if they manage to keep this up.

Day 1was a relatively simple one. No fuss, no frills, just fish. A boomerang fused with two fish may not do much damage, but the fish’s smelly properties may clear out an area if you don’t want to get into a fight.Day 2took a more direct approach, fusing a sword with a pair of pants. While the pants don’t offer much, the sword gets another blade by its side, making it a rather large fork with a sleeve.

Day 3was a bit different, an Ancient Arrow fused with a seafood skewer might not kill a Lynel in one shot, but perhaps it could put it to sleep with a hearty meal. And that brings us to today, day 4, and perhaps the strangest weapon fusion yet.

An Ancient Greatsword with its blade covered in Korok leaves to create a chainsaw sword that will literally blow enemies away. The funny thing is that, no matter how ridiculous these creations sound, you’ll most likely be able to create something pretty close to them once the game launches.
