But with a pack filled to the brim with new support, you can also expect powerful spell cards that many duelists should watch for. With cards like Angel of Blue Tears, Barian Untopia, and Super Soldier Ritual, you can find spells that can help specific archetypes and add to any deck needing extra power on the field.
10Duel Academy
Duel Academy is a unique and fun card. Taking the name of the iconic setting for all of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Duel Academy gives you a different effect depending on the type of monster you have on the field. If a Trap card is activated and you control a Warrior, Beast, or Pyro monster, you can target and destroy one of your opponent’s cards. If a spell card is activated and you have a Dinosaur, Sea Serpent, or Thunder-type monster, you can inflict 1000 damage to your opponent. And, if you have a Machine, Fairy, or Fiend-type monster and activate a monster effect, you can target one face-up monster you control and give it 1000 ATK.
It’s highly situational, and it can even help your opponent whenever they play cards of a specific type, but it’s a fun concept of a card that can turn the tides of battle in your favor.

9On Your Mark, Get Set, DUEL!
This continuous spell card, On Your Mark, Get Set, DUEL! is like Pot of Greed with extra steps. If you control no other cards, you can add one Synchron monster from your deck to your hand. Then, once per turn during your standby phase, place one signal counter on this card; you can remove two signal counters from your field and send this face-up card to the graveyard, allowing you to draw two cards and send one card from your hand to the graveyard.
If played correctly, you’re able to get three cards while filling your graveyard with powerful cards that can utilize this zone. But because it’s a continuous spell, chances are this card will be removed if not protected correctly.

8Super Soldier Ritual
Super Soldier Ritual is some of the best support the Black Luster Soldier archetype could have ever asked for. This spell card can summon any Black Luster Soldier Ritual Monster. Not only that, you can banish this card, one light monster, and one dark monster from your graveyard and special summon one Black Luster Soldier Ritual Monster from your hand, ignoring its summoning.

With a card like this, you don’t have to worry about if you’ll be able to get out your ritual monsters when this card can do it from anywhere on the field outside of the banished zone.
Overload Fusion allows you to fusion summon one Dark Machine Fusion Monster from your extra deck by banishing fusion materials mentioned from the field or graveyard. It may seem like nothing special, but this card is the dark machine version of miracle fusion, and you know how annoying and vital miracle fusion is for HERO decks.

Being able to summon from the field or graveyard allows for powerful combos, considering you can use the same materials repeatedly to bring out different or the same fusion monsters again and again.
6Angel Of Blue Tears
Angel of Blue Tears is aggravating for many duelists. When this card is activated, you may target one face-up monster on the field; the monster’s controller takes damage equal to the number of cards in their hand times 200, then that monster’s effects are negated until the end of the turn. Then, if effect damage is inflicted outside of the Damage Step, you can banish this card from your graveyard and set one normal trap directly from your hand or deck.
But if that wasn’t enough, if the normal trap is set from the hand, you’re able to activate it the same turn. Any burn deck can see themselves adding this card to their deck as it is a complete boost to that dueling style. With such versatility, you will see this card around.

5Cost Down
As the name suggests, Cost Down reduces the levels of all monsters in your hand by two, even after they are summoned. Now some people may look at this at first and wonder why this card is great; well, it’s because it can fit in four different summoning conditions: Pendulum, XYZ, Ritual, and Synchro.

With a card that can fit in many types of decks, it can effectively give you an edge in battle if you don’t have the right cards to get the level requirements to where you need them to be. You’ll probably see this card often, ensuring complicated and effective combos.
4Barian Untopia
Barian Untopia is one of the most annoying field spells many will have to deal with. This field spell ensures that Number monsters between 101 and 107, CXyz, and Number C monsters under your control cannot be destroyed by the opponent’s card effects. Also, your opponent cannot target them with card effects.
Plus, if you special summon an XYZ monster with Rank-Up-Magic, you can target that XYZ monster and one of your opponent’s monsters and attach your opponent’s monster as material to your XYZ. Having a card on the field that cancels your card effects and allows you to take your opponent’s monsters from them is devastating, and it forces your opponent to use resources to either get rid of this card or suffer.

3Double Attack! Wind And Thunder!!
The Gate Guardians were given enormous love with this spell, Double Attack! Wind and Thunder!! If you control a Gate Guardian, you’re able to target and destroy one card on the field. Afterward, you can banish this card from your graveyard and add one Sanga of the Thunder, Kazejin, or Suijin that is banished or in your deck to your hand.
This card eliminates cards that your opponent controls and allows you to recycle your banished fusion material or gives you the tool to do fusion summons from your deck. It’s a card that rewards you for playing theGate Guardians archetypeand has no drawbacks; therefore, it’s one of the better spells from Maze of Memories.

2Riryoku Guardian
Riryoku Guardian is one of the best cards in the Gate Guardian archetype. If your life points are lower than your opponent’s, target one monster you control with Gate Guardian in its original name; halve your opponent’s Life Points, then that monster gains ATK equal to your opponent’s life points.

Plus, you can banish this card from your graveyard and add a Sanga of the Thunder, Kazejin, or Suijin that is banished or in your deck to your hand. This spell boosts your monsters, takes away half your opponent’s life points, and can add cards to your hand that were banished or in your deck. There is nothing more that needs to be said; this card is amazing.
1This Creepy Little Punk
This Creepy Little Punk might sound funny in name, but it’s heart aching for your opponents in play. This spell lets you special summon an Infernity monster that is banished in your hand, or graveyard. Then, if a face-up Infernity monster you control is destroyed by battle or leaves the field because of an opponent’s card effect, you’re able to set this card from the graveyard.
In other terms, you will always see this card on the field unless it’s banished or negated outright. This card allows for the Infernity monsters to recycle repeatedly, and you will most likely only see the end once this card is gone completely.
