Fortunately, getting Winterbite is quite easy once you get past its lengthy pre-requisite quests, including the somewhat hidden ‘Bluejay’ quest. This guide will showcase how to unlock the ‘Strider’ quest and its lengthy pre-requisite quests, and we’ll give an overview of how to complete each ‘Strider’ quest step.

How To Start The Strider Exotic Quest

‘Strider’ is an Exotic quest that grants the Winterbite Exotic Glaive as a quest reward.you’re able to unlock this quest by completing all previous quests from the Archivist on Neomuna. These quests include ‘Stargazer,’ ‘Maelstrom,’ and ‘Bluejay.’ You’ll also need to complete the Bluejay quest to access the weekly Partition activity.

How To Complete The Bluejay Quest

The ‘Bluejay’ quest is the penultimate quest provided by the Archivist, unlocked by completing the ‘Stargazer’ and ‘Maelstrom ‘quests. You’ll unlock ‘Stargazer’ upon completing the Lightfall campaign on any difficulty. This short quest requires you to unlock a Terminal Overload Key Chest and defeat a Hydra miniboss on Neomuna. Once complete, speak to the Archivist to gain ‘Maelstrom.’ This quest is somewhat grindy, requiring you to complete numerous activities on Neptune. We findpatrols and Lost Sectorsto be the most efficient. For the Strand sources objective, you’ll need to find wisps of Strand in the current Vex Incursion Zone marked on your map. Your HUD will mark any Strand hotspots as you approach, denoted by a star icon and a 30-second timer. You just need to interact with the node to gain progress; no kills are required.

Completing all of that unlocks ‘Bluejay.’ This quest requires you to defeat enemies in the Vex Incursion Zone while the Strand subclass is equipped. Enemies you kill will have a small chance of dropping Shellcode Fragments to progress this step.Keep killing enemieswith Strand equippeduntil they start dropping fragments. You need eight in total. Expect to kill roughly 40-50 enemies before finishing this step. We recommend farming Terminal Override if it’s active in the Vex Incursion Zone that day.

Destiny 2 Strider Quest Start

Once that’s done, you’ll need tocomplete the Partition activity, a sort of Sparrow time trial where you must defuse bombs while navigating an obstacle course. The mission itself is rather straightforward. Take it slow, don’t boost when near the edge of the path, and you should have no issues getting this done. Return to the Archivist when you’re done to start the ‘Strider’ quest.

Destiny 2 Neomuna Bluejay Quest

This quest step is time-gated, requiring three days to complete.

Your first quest objective is toopen the Terminal Overload bonus chest at Zephyr Concourse, Ahimsa Park, and Liming Harbor. The bonus chest will spawn after a successful T3 Terminal Overload completion and requires one Terminal Overload Key to unlock. You can earn these keys by completing Neomuna activities and one of Nimbus’ daily bounties.

Terminal Overload’s location rotates daily,so this objective will take three days to complete. The activity rotates clockwise on the destination:

Destiny 2 Terminal Overload T3 Start

Defeat Shadow Legion Forces In Neomuna

This next step requires you todefeat 20 Cabal units on Neomuna and clear the Gilded Precept Lost Sector.Defeating 20 Cabal units shouldn’t be an issue. Explore Ahimsa Park if you’re struggling to find any. As for the Lost Sector, head to the northeast corner of the map.Instead of walking inside Calus’ ship, head outside and look on the right side of the ship. You should see some narrow ledges you can jump down to. Walk on these platforms to reach the Lost Sector. Clear it out to finish this step.

Destroy The Hydras At Maya’s Retreat

The final quest objective in ‘Strider’ is todefeat four Hydras in Maya’s Retreat and collect the data streams they drop.Maya’s Retreat can be found east of Liming Harbor, the same location you visit for theDeterministic Chaos quest. Defeat any Hydras you see to spawn the data, then interact with the data stream they drop. Once you’ve collected all four, head back to the Archivist to receive the Winterbite Exotic Glaive.
