Starting Trail Of Echoes
The cave in question isat the end of the road leading northwest out of Kaer Morhen,in the woods. It’s a long journey that you will want Roach for but is on an easy-to-follow path.
Geralt will recognize the cave when he gets there, commenting on its history as the site where witchers received their mutations before the fortress was built.

Once you get inside, the cave’s new residents will greet you.Several nekker warriors and a devourerhave made their home inside and will react violently to your visit, forcing you to kill them before you can explore.
Finding The Artifacts
Though the quest doesn’t have a material reward, you will receive25 experience pointsforinspecting the relicsand, most importantly, theTrial of the Grasses registry tome.
Your Witcher Senses are essential for completing the quest.Interact with all the items with a red outline.Geralt will have something to say about each object, giving you his thoughts about the process.
The hardest item to find isthe registry tome.The questwill not end until you find it,which can be annoying given its unfortunate location. It ison one of the “beds”,in the middle of the cave. It can be hard to spot thanks to it being enveloped by the bed’s larger glow.
