When it comes to earning easy money inThe Witcher 3,there are few options as good as races. You will find at least one opportunity to race in each of the game’s regions. Each time, you have the chance to win money and equipment for Roach.

Novigrad’s races are especially lucrative. While it may seem like an ordinary derby, it quickly expands to encompass parts of Novigrad’s seedy underbelly and all the rewards that come with such involvement. With some incredibly valuable equipment for Roach and a hefty coin pouch waiting for the victor, this race is not one to miss.
Where To Start Race: The Great Erasmus Vegelbud Memorial Derby
These races will only become available aftercompletingGet Junior.On the quest’s resolution, you will be able toand youmay find an announcer at Hierarch Square.
You may alsovisit the Vegelbud Estate directly,finding the person in charge of the racesby the course.Talk to him to begin participating.
You will need topay 100 crownsper race. You will not be able to participate unless you have enough money.
You will need to triumph overthree opponents.You will earn a different reward after each victory.
The saddlebags willincrease your carry weight by 70 points.
Third Race
You will earn theSuperior Cavalry Saddleand a total of180 crownsfrom this win and for emerging as the overall champion.
This saddle willincrease Roach’s stamina by a whopping 70 points.
The first two races are easy enough to complete. They aren’t particularly long and can be won withcareful stamina managementand avoiding any glaring blunders such asriding into terrainormissing checkpoints.
The third and final race ismore challenging.It is a longer track, requiring you totake multiple breaksso that Roach can recover her stamina. ensure tokeep an eye on the minimapand follow the path indicated carefully.This track has several forksthat can lead unsuspecting riders off-track.
While you will be walking out with some fantastic equipment for Roach and a fuller coin pouch, a newer and more lucrative opportunity is about to present itself.
Riding For Crime
Geralt’s unexpected victory caughtCleaver’s attention.The gang leader sends a subordinate to tell Geralt to find Cleaver at his base of operations in Novigrad. When you arrive, Cleaver explains thatthe Big Four have their own derby.He asks Geralt to ride on his behalf, promising a hefty paycheck for winning.
ensure tosave your game before agreeing to participate.You only haveone chance to win,with a reward significant enough to make save-scumming worth at least a little consideration.
You will beteleported to the starting lineas soon as you agree. This race will bea long one,against two opponents at once. You should have no trouble winning this race if you succeeded in the first half of this quest.
You shouldtake several, short, breaksthroughout the race, slowing from a gallop to a canter. You want to verify thatRoach always has some stamina availableto prevent your opponents from pulling ahead.
The full700 crown rewardandRacing Horse Blinderswill be awarded to you if you win. The Temple Guard will break up the race shortly after, ending the quest.
