Anyone invested inThe Witcher 3’salchemy would know just how many herbs Geralt needs to keep his potions and bombs fully stocked. It’s no surprise, then, that the School of the Wolf had once tried to create a greenhouse using weather-controlling magic near Kaer Morhen to grow their valuable plants.

This effort has been long forgotten by the school’s few survivors and is ripe for rediscovery in the side quest Greenhouse Effect. The only way to find the place is to discover it yourself, without any notes or hints as to its location. Unless you read this guide, that is.
Where To Start Greenhouse Effect
You will have tosearch southwest of Kaer Morhen,not far from your first fight in the main quest, “To Bait a Forktail…".You will heardistant thunderwhen you are close to the quest’s starting location.
It is hard to miss the quest location;a large storm cloud hovers over the area.Head over to the cave beneath the cloud to start the quest.

How To Solve The Puzzle
In the cave,use Geralt’s Witcher Sensesto search fora conspicuous rock.Interact with it to use theEye of Nehaleni,dispelling the rock and reveal themage’s letter.Geralt uses it to figure out how torestore the greenhouse’s system.
You will need toapproach the three stones under the cloud.CastIgni on two of themandAard on the remaining one.This will have the greenhouse functioning normally andstop the storm.
It will also have the unintended consequence ofreleasing a chorton Geralt. You will need to kill it before it kills you.
With the monster killed, the quest will ask you towait several days before returning.The plants will befully grown and ready for harvestwhen you do so. The quest will end after you harvest them.
Alternatively, you couldwalk down the mountainto make the plants grow instantly. The quest will still be completed even if you check on the plants much earlier than expected.
