Empty Coop is one ofThe Witcher 3quests that give you a sense of accomplishment as soon as you finish it. The quest starts in the countryside surrounding Novigrad and touches on the same themes that you may have encountered in Velen; the plight of children in war.

Starting Empty Coop
This quest starts at an unmarked housejust east of Honeyfill Meadworks.Walk over to meet an old woman who iscomplaining about a monster stealing her chickens.She is frustrated enough with her plight that she will hire Geralt to help track the monster down, if you accept the quest.
Like any other monster contract, you will need to start byfinding a set of tracksto follow. You can find themon the southern sideof the chicken coop. Your Witcher Senses will highlight the wolf-like footsteps. As Geralt notes, the tracks were made by a bipedal creature.

Finding The Children
The tracks will lead you to a river,forcing you to pick up the trailfrom the other bank. Fortunately, they continuewithin the search circlemade by the quest. The chicken thieves are not far from there, huddled around a campfire.
Geralt will confront the children and ask why they have been stealing chickens. As they tell it, their parents had been killed by soldiers, leaving them to fend for themselves in the woods. Though they are unrepentant about their theft, Geralt realizes that the children would be in danger if left alone.

The quest willsend you back to the old woman’s houseto report on your success. The quest will end here, with your reward paid out.
During the final conversation, you cansuggest taking in the children.If you do so,they will be living with the old womanafter several days.
