A Barnful of Trouble is a quest fromThe Witcher 3that you have to go out of your way to find and start. The quest begins at what can generously be called a hamlet near Novigrad. The quest has Geralt assist a group of farmers with their monster troubles, as he tends to do.

Where To Start A Barnful Of Trouble
Carsten, where the quest takes place, issoutheast of the Vegelbud Residence,the place you visited with Triss in the questA Matter of Life and Death.You will need to venture within the hamlet’s walls, where you will encountera group of peasantsarguing outside a barn.
Geralt will offer his services to them, which they take some time to accept. The group explain thatbeasts have taken up residencein the barn and need to be cleared out.
If youtake too long to help them,the monsters will escape andkill the lot, preventing you from completing the quest.
Killing Monsters
The peasants shove Geralt into the barn and shut the door behind him. You will be trapped in the buildingwith four ghouls.As challenges go, this should be far from the most difficult. The four monsters willimmediately attack.
If available,make sure to apply Necrophage Oilbefore or during the fight to increase your damage against these monsters. They are also vulnerable toBlack Blood,taking damage when they damage you.
When all four have been slain, the residents will open the door and allow you to leave.
You caninvestigate the human remainsin the corner of the barn for an additional dialogue option.
Geralt will be paid for his work and will be able to leave immediately after, ending the quest.
