It is said that society is no more than three meals away from anarchy. When people become something far worse than hangry, they may become willing to do anything to survive, asThe Witcher 3can demonstrate. Looters covers a trio of disconnected encounters that give you a snapshot of how ordinary folk can turn to banditry to survive.

These three encounters are neither tracked in the journal nor have any interesting rewards; you can consider them skippable. You might want to play these quests if you are trying to experience everything in the game or to sate your curiosity.
Looters have wandered into an abandoned quarry.

Two gangs are arguing about how they should split their stolen loot.
The encounters arescattered around Velen,often in areas far from the game’s more significant quests. You will need toapproach each group of peasants for a conversation to occurand for the encounter to play out.

Roadside Scavengers
This encounter occurs along aroad east of Heatherton,the village at the end ofThe Nilfgaardian Connection.Geralt will encountera handful of peasantslooting some corpses, noting that many bodies are still fresh. You will havetwo optionsfor dealing with them.
Question their activities.
Asking the looters about their activities willanger their leaderand start a fight. You will need to kill asmall group of melee fighterswith a chance formounted reinforcements.
Move on.
Deciding that it is none of Geralt’s business will allow the group to continue without any further conflict.
Abandoned Quarry
You will need to travel off the beaten path to find this encounter. It isnortheastof theHanged Man’s Treeand down the road from the short questDeath by Fire.A trio of peasants is trying to relieve any treasures remaining at an abandoned quarry. You will havetwo optionsfor dealing with them.
Geralt will be halfway through his first sentence when hespots a pack of alghouls.He raises the alarm anddefends the peasants.They are grateful for the help anddo not turn hostile.

The witcher will leave, and the group will not notice the alghouls until he is long gone. You may find ahostile survivorif you return later.
Alghouls aredangerous necrophagesthat cangrow spikes when angered.You canlower the spikes by casting Axii.

You may wish to imbibeTawny Owlto ensure that you have enough stamina to manage their spikes.
Make sure tosearch the quarry.You can find thediagram for the Enhanced Feline Gauntletsin a chest within.

Arguing Gangs
Geralt may find two gangs of looters arguing with each other in the recently emptied town ofToderas,south of Marauders' Bridge.It is far to the east of theReardon estate, whereThe Fall Of The House Of Reardontakes place.You will havetwo optionsfor dealing with them.
Kill them all.
Choosing to call them monsters will, predictably, start a fight. You will need todefeat both groups of lootersto survive.
Geralt will decide that it is none of his business and makes a sarcastic comment about how the loot should be shared as he departs. Both groups willfight to the death. Any survivors willnot be hostile.
