Let’s get this out of the way from the jump -Trails to Azureis a tougher game than its predecessor. While Trails from Zero had a handful of harder boss fights toward its tail end, Trails to Azure comes out swinging. It’s no Dark Souls, or - well, whichever hard RPG you use as a stand-in example for uber-challenging video games - but it’s a clear step ahead of much of the rest of the Legend of Heroes series.

Does that mean leveling up quickly is a boon? Certainly. Is leveling the most important factor in party prep? Not even remotely, no, but it’s still good to know that Shining Poms have made their glorious return to help offer big EXP when you need it most.
What Are Shining Poms?
Among the most glorious of cute little creatures in The Legend of Heroes JRPG franchise, there exist the Poms, and their special shiny variants are particularly good eating.Shining Poms are rare creatures that can only be found at very specific locations throughout the Crossbell region.
You can tell them apart from the normal Poms - which are still pretty handy to fight, mind you - by theirglowing reddish-tinted perimeters. The above pic, which we used as a cover image for our coverage of Shining Poms back in Trails from Zero, still does a fine job of illustrating what you’ll be up against. Do note the cute halos. Wait, are these things already dead?

Every Shining Pom Location
Those of you who have played Trails from Zero already - and you really should do that before starting Trails to Azure, by the way! - will note that the following section reads eeriily similar.Indeed, Shining Poms are largely in the same locations now as they were before;their precise coordinates appear to have shifted a tad, but they’re still in their original zones.
East Crossbell Highway Pom
Take the car or bus to the spot markedBus Stop (Fork)from Crossbell. The paved road that leads out to the east just a few feet away from the bus stop also runs through the entirety of the zone to the west.
From the bus stop, follow the road west and then northwest — this isn’t going to take long at all, mercifully, as the northwest and east exits are close to each other. The Shining Pom will eventually spawn near the paved road, close to the big wooden box.

Mainz Mountain Path Pom
Another bus stop friend, the Mainz Mountain Path Shining Pom spawns fairly close toBus Stop (Studio). Head toward the studio andventure one screen south of iteach time until you find it, taking the bus or car back to Crossbell City as you did before.
From St. Ursula College, exit west, follow the paved road, and check near the staircase leading to a pier that overlooks Stargazer Tower.
West Crossbell Highway Pom
Bus to the intersection and gonortheasta screen. You will need to follow the zigzagging and then veer left near the topwhere a circular section can be found just south of the northernmost exit. Your Shining Pom awaits you here - if you’re lucky.
