Throughout Nibel, the gorgeous world you explore inOri and the Blind Forest, you find several Map Stones that were once used to chart the lands. However, Map Stone Fragments have gone missing from each, meaning it’s up to you to locate them to fill out the remaining sections of your map of Nibel.

Completing a Map Stone will provide Ori with a grayscale map of that area, coloring in slowly as you explore each one. For help finding each of the eight Map Stones and their corresponding Map Stone Fragments in Ori and the Blind Forest, follow on ahead.

How To Use This Guide

Since your Map Stones and Map Stone Fragments are separate things with separate locations in Ori and the Blind Forest, we’ll need to separate them in the guide below in order to keep everything straight.

We took Ori and the Blind Forestarea by areain our guide. Each area of the game will contain amap marked with a starto denote where the item we’re guiding you to within that area can be found.

Ori and the Blind Forest - Sunken Glades Map Stone Fragments

We’ll first direct you on how to find theMap Stone Fragments, since you can’t use the Map Stones without them. This will be thefirst mapfor each area you’ll play in throughout Ori and the Blind Forest, and we’ll follow with specific instructions to locate them.

Many of the Map Stone Fragments arehiddenand look as though they’re outside the boundaries of the map. We’ll direct you on where to go in any such occasion.

Then, after you’re able to access it, we’ll show you on the map where theMap Stone itselfcan be found inthe second map, followed beneath by written instructions on how to get there.

Sunken Glade

You’ll need totake the long way aroundthis map segment by going to the left and navigating through the puzzle here.

At the end of the puzzle is aswitchthat, when pulled,lowers a boardthat you can use to wall jump.Jump across the board that loweredto find a small platform to the right, and grab the Map Stone Fragment.

Drop downfrom the platform where you got the Map Stone Fragment anduse the wall to jump back uptowardthe right sideof the corridor just beneath the Fragment.

Simplyhead right down this corridorand take the lower path when it splits, and you’ll find the Map Stone down thedead-end lower path.

Ori and the Blind Forest - Hollow Grove Spirit Map Stones

Hollow Grove

Use the jump padsto climbover the large treein the center of this section (being careful of the enemy at the top).

Once you’re safe to land,jump to the wall on the leftand use it toslide downward, thenjump off toward the rightside of the screen just under the platform you jumped from. The Map Stone Fragment is within the tree itself.

Ori and the Blind Forest - Thornfelt Swamp Map Stone Fragments

With this Fragment in hand, hopback over the platformtoward where you began, and jump down toward the corridor on therightonce you reach the bottom.

Thornfelt Swamp

Getting to the platform marked by the star on the map above requiresswimming downandreemergingin thepockets of air above the waterin this section.

Catch your breathon the platform in the rightmost section to which the water opens, andthen jump downfrom this platform into the water again.

Once you’re under,wait for the press to the rightto time out so that you can swim straight through without pause.

The Map Stone Fragment is in asmall opening in the rocksjust past the press.

Ori and the Blind Forest - Moon Grotto Map Stone Fragment

The Map Stone itself is back at the top pf the swamp. Swim back up to thetop of the large water section you swam downto find the Fragment to begin navigating to the Map Stone.

Once you’ve resurfaced,head toward theleft. There’s an enemy in your way, but the Map Stone is just past it.

Moon Grotto

At the area marked on the map overview above, you’ll find a section of sliding platforms. Beneath the bottom platform is a vertical rock that you may jump to when the platform sections are not connected.

Land on the vertical rock, wall jump to the platform section on the left when it’s withdrawn, and use this as leverage to wall jump onto the tall vertical rock.

From there, you can jump to the left to find the small platform with the keystone.

Get back up to thetop-most sectionof the platforms in this section of Moon Grotto, then head off tothe leftfrom here.

You’ll find thelarge open area with the waterfallsin here, and the Map Stone is right in thebasin.

Valley Of The Winds

The Valley of the Winds is a bit different from the rest of the areas of Ori and the Blind Forest, since you’ll needtwo Map Stone Fragmentshere instead of the usual one.

Both are marked in the map above, but we’ll detail each Fragment for you on its own.

How To Get The First Map Stone Fragment In The Valley Of The Winds

From the open areajust under the Spirit Well,jump from the platformtowards theleft sideof the area and glide. You’ll land on awooden platform on the left.

Jumpoff this platform slightly towards the right, and use Kuro’s Feather navigate Orialong the left-sideof the area (along the wall supporting the platform you just jumped from).

Across from a rickety wooden plank is a small opening in the cliff face that looks, as you’re guiding Ori down, like a small inlet in the rock.

Land on this little inletand walk to the left to reveal thew Map Stone Fragment hiddenwithin the rock.

How To Get The Second Map Stone Fragment In The Valley Of The Winds

The second Map Stone Fragment is much easier to find. The area you’ll need to be is colored in green on the overworld map above.

Jump downto a smallplatform on the right sideof this area, and you’ll see the Map Stone Fragment already from here,hidden behind a stone pillar.

There’s arolling enemyjust to the left of this screen.Jump down to the main levelandbait the enemy into rolling toward youto attack when it’ll roll in such a way that it’s coming toward the stone.

Oncethe enemy hits the stone pillarand collapses it, jump down to grab the Map Stone Fragment.

This Map Stone Fragment is for the Map Stone in theForlorn Ruins.

In order to access the Map Stone in the Valley of the Winds, you’ll once again need tobait a rolling enemyinto opening a stone blockade for you.

Goleft from where you got the second Map Stone Fragment, and bait the rolling enemy into following you into thelower sectionof this area.

Once it’s in a positionwhere it can hit the stone pillarblocking your way on the right,bashthe enemy so that it goes flyingtoward the stone pillar.

After the pillar has been destroyed, the Map Stone is just inside the corridor it’d been blocking.

Forlorn Ruins

In Black Root Burrows, you’ll need to have taken the steps toreplace Naru’s Light. This is one of thefirst things you doin the area.

Once you’ve replaced the light, godirectly leftandjump across the large openinghere. The Map Stone is just in the corridor opposite the statue.

The Map Stone Fragment that unlocks this Map Stone is thesecond of the Fragmentsfrom theValley of the Wind.

Sorrow Pass

The Map Stone Fragment in Sorrow Pass is a bit tricky to reach, as even your map makes it look like it’s outside the map’s boundaries.

To reach it, jump across the chasm just below the Map Stone Fragment on your map andbash off one of the falling rocksto reach the small platform in the upper-left.

The Map Stone itself is very easy to locate from where you grabbed the Fragment.

Simplydrop downfrom the platform where the Map Stone Fragment was andjump into thechasm you jumped over to reach the Fragment.

The Map Stone itself is juston the leftonce you land down this small hole.

Mount Horu

The Map Stone Fragment you need in Mount Horu is no small feat to collect.

You’ll approach it from above in this top side-section of the map. In order to begin the sequence, you’ll need totrigger the rising platformby jumping over toward the open section on the left. Once you’re in its path, the platform willrocket upwardson the chains to attempt to squish you.

Ride the platform as it risesalong the chains andjump toward the spikes and glide in placeas it slams into the ceiling of the area to avoid being crushed.

Once the platform has fallen back downagain, jump down onto itwhere it’s resting in its starting position, then quickly headto the leftto find the Map Stone Fragment in a hidden section of this wall.

Back in the large, central sectionof Mount Horu, towards the top, you’ll need to do somecareful glidingin order to get to the Map Stone.

From theupper platformin this section, glide around the lava pitanddowninto the corridor ofspikes.

Dodging the fireballsin this area will take some doing, but you’ll notice abreak in the spikes on the wall to the leftas you descend.Aim for that, and the Map Stone is just behind it.
