Of the many collectibles to find and hoard inBayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, the Journals are the easiest but most numerous to collect. You’ll discover many of them on your main path as you progress the story, but ensure to keep your eyes peeled for some of the sneakier entries.

All Journal Locations
There are48 Journal entriesto find in Avalon Forest. Spread across the many areas of the vast map, they are the largest set of collectibles to discover. Thankfully, however, they are also some of the easiest to find.

Chapter 3
Jade Hill
Found on the north side of the vine bridgeabove the first Tir Na Nog. Travel on the cliffside path to the southeast.
Leafy Nook
To theright of the Leafy Nook Sanctuary, along the main path and after speaking to Morgana.
Sunspeckled Grove
To theleft of the Wood Shrine boss arena. To reach this Journal, you must defeat the boss and jump across a lily pad and find it on the opposite shore.
Chapter 4Part One
Found along the main pathbefore encountering the bridge where the minor Amadan jester faerie will use the bridge leverand summon a carnivorous flower.
Chalkroot Hollow
Along the main path, you’re able to find this Biologist’s Journal to thewest of Chalkroot HollowSanctuaryand just before reaching the gate to the playground in front of Faerieland Tower.
Chapter 6
Windy Knot
On the main story path, this journal is placedright in front of a line of hammer flowers on a long, upwards-spiraling tree branch.
Chapter 7
Lower Chalkroot Hollow
After defeating the Jabberwock, this journal isjust past the Arcane Lanternand sitting in front of the first lily pad.
Chapter 8
Lake Nimueh
The second journal foundon the path of waterfalls down to Ashenbark Woods. It is easily missed due to being tucked in a corner in one of the many pools leading down. When reaching a pool with one whirlpool at the end, sitting near the waterfall into the final area of Lake Nimueh, turn back to find this Journal hiding in a corner alcove.
Chapter 11
Sunkissed Shore
Justnorth of the Sunkissed Shore Sanctuary, this log is on the left side just across from a wisp.
Forbidden Grounds
On the main story path, this Journal is foundon the northern road just after reaching the Forbidden Grounds Sanctuary.
Chapter 9
Ashenbark Woods
Found at the bottom of a staircase on the main path justbefore reaching the circular area in front of Puca’s Fortress.
Chapter 10
Puca’s Fortress
Just after saving Cheshire, this Journal is across abroken platform on a cog just past the Arcane Lantern.
Returning to the fortress with Cheshire, climb through the Fortress until reaching thesecond set of turning cogs. Instead of moving from the first cog into the second, step off to a platform on the right where you can Toss Cheshire onto a ledge and kick down a ladder. Jump down and climb the ladder to find this Journal piece at the dead end to the far east (past the Tir Na Nog in the northern door).
Wyvern Falls
Found north of a small patch of Rosemary and beforejumping over a bridgeStone Cheshire reveals with a stomp.
Chapter 4Part Two
Forgotten Knoll
Along the main route, this Journal sits at thebottom of the Forgotten Knoll entrance slide.
Chapter 5
At thetop of the mushroomsshortly after jumping out of the Forgotten Knoll/Amadan’s Big Top, this Journal is on the main path.
Giant’s Basin
From the Giant’s Basin Sanctuary, go down the stairs to the north and take the lily pad as far east as possible. The Journal will be foundjust before reaching a platformthat leads to a Moon Pearl.
Before entering Chalkroot Hollow Sanctuary from the north side (coming from Sunspeckled Grove), take thehidden side path partially hidden by a waterfall. The Journal piece will be found on the far precipice.
4Part Two
Behind Colm, this Journal sitsunder a slide near the playground equipmentin the Wisps' Hideaway.
Just before reaching the Jabberwock’s final fight, this journal is foundat the top of the stairs past the Arcane Lantern site.
Found after leaving Puca’s Fortress and passing the final Arcane Lantern on the bridge to enter an icy fortress. It is at adead end after melting the first pair of icy pillarson the right side of the main path.
On the left side at the top of the first,red spiraling staircase(past both sets of flamethrowers on the way up).
Just left (northwest) of the Sanctuary, you mustabsorb the water source and drain the areato find this Journal piece.
To the northeast of Sunkissed Shore Sanctuary, pick up this Journal piece at thetop of a spiral staircase.
Faerieland Tower
After lowering the second bridge in Faerieland Tower (after the Sanctuary), free the first wisp to the west and continue westward. Follow therailroad tracksto find the Journal at the end on the left side.
The Watchtower
After entering the Watchtower for the first time and reaching the first Arcane Lantern, the Journal can be foundon a path to the left on the seesaw.
Overgrown Shrine
After crossing a stem bridge created by Wood Cheshire (and just after the site where Trent the Wisp can be found), this Journal can be foundleft of the main path.
This Journal is past the second elevator, passing it in favor of a path on the east side that will eventually lead to a third elevator. Take it down to find this piece on theeastern cliffside.
After clearing both the Obstruction and Resentment Tir Na Nogs to theeast of the first Arcane Lantern(not including the Sanctuary) on the circular platform, take the stairs up to reach this Journal on the edge.
Beside Cindy the Wisp, this journal is to thewest of Giant’s Basin Sanctuaryin a gazebo area.
This piece is on the other side of the Overgrown Shrine’s magic barrier gate. Once the gate has been lowered bydestroying all three magic bulbs, the Journal is on the left side of the main path.
Overgrown Shrine/Altar of the Faerie King
Just to the left of the Primordial Tir Na Nog, this Journal piece beside the large tree can be picked up before or after the completion of the Tir Na Nog. It is on thesouthern border between the Overgrown Shrine and the Altar of the Faerie King.
Discovered just right of the Fire Elemental Core andbefore the first absorbable fire power.
From the Arcane Lantern after theIllusion Tir Na Nog, turn right and look under the platform with a resource chest on top. The Journal will be hidden beneath this platform on ground level.
Forgotten Knoll/Amadan’s Big Top
Found along the main path after defeating Amadan Dubh and reaching the first Arcane Lantern beyond the Earth Shrine. It is locatedjust past an arena with fae and beyond the trapped wispabove at the top of a set of stairs along the main path.
To the east of the Sanctuary, find this journal piece on a small,dead-end side path just along the main route. Found before the yellow spring mushroom.
At the first Arcane Lantern site past the Jabberwock, this journal isresting against the wall on the southeast side.
The first piece of Journal on the Lake Nimueh path to Ashenbark Woods. It is on themain story path next to a swirling whirlpool.
On the main story path, this journal piece is on the roadpast two sets of trapson the ground.
Traversing through Giant’s Basin on the west side, this Journal piece is taken after Cereza is pulled via flying flower by Cheshire to a shore with rising and falling flowers and a large yellow mushroom. Instead of jumping on the flowers,jump down and head to the south to a bridge flower Cereza can grow. Cross it to eventually find this Journal in a space below.
From the Giants' Basin Sanctuary, head south and jump down the multiple ledges near the rising and falling flowers. Continue south to find the same bridge flower and cross it to the Journal.
On top of the Jade Hill Sanctuary on the left side. It sits on ayellow mushroom before the vine bridgeto a chest.
Found on the main path shortly after arriving in Sunspeckled Grove and completing the first Tir Na Nog, Rotation. Placed right before the Sunspeckled Grove Sanctuary.
Lower-to-Upper Chalkroot Hollow
Near the end of Lower Chalkroot Hollow, this Journal piece is found on the story path afterStomping on a large yellow mushroomthat will lead back to Upper Chalkroot Hollow.
In the arena near where you find your first Inferno Fruit. Mustdefeat all enemy faeries before claiming.
Found along the main path to the north of the Faerieland Tower Sanctuary. It is on top of theplatform above the sanctuary, accessible by a rope net.
Found on an uneven, tilting platform on the main pathafter receiving the Earth Elemental Core. Seen for the first time just in front of the White Wolf.
After reaching Puca’s Fortress for the first time and reaching the first Arcane Lantern, this piece isto the left of the first Gear Device Cereza can use to turn the direction of the cogs.
After passing the windows Cereza must sneak past on her first visit, this piece is on thefar northern side of the cogs in the rafters. The elevator device below can be seen from this location.
