With three branches in Ori’s skill tree and plenty of challenges ahead, you’ll want to be spending your Ability Cells often to keep your head above water.

Below, you’ll findone section per area of Nibelthat contains the locations of each collectible Ability Point. There are33 total Ability Cellshidden throughout the world, so we’ve sectioned Nibel out for easier readability.

You won’t see each area of Nibel, here though -any area not listed in the guide below does not have Ability Points to find.

Each section of this guide contains amap imageof the area marked withorange numbersto denote where each Ability Point is located. These act as a guide to help you find each one’sguided notesin thetablethat showseach Ability Point in the world when you get it.

The Ability Points arenot numbered in the game, as Ori and the Blind Forest requiresquite a bit of backtrackingas aMetroidvaniagame. You’ll occasionally need toreturn to these areas after unlocking abilities later in the game.

There are enemies shooting projectiles down a ramp at you in this area. Hop over one, thenuse a projectile to launch yourself upwardstoward the platform with the Ability Cell.

Jump up theplatformsin this area using a series of wall jumps and dashes to avoid the spikes, thenaim your flame at the trigger just above the spiked platform. In the area with the shallow water,jump straight upwardsby the entranceto this section and land on the platform here.Jump and glideas far as you’re able to, then dash your way to the platform with the Ability Cell once you see it and can reach.

From the larger area beneath,jumpyour way up the upper wall to the left, then jump toclear the gap to the next platform.Wall jump up the right wallin this area to reach the inlet with the Ability Point.

From thepassageway in the treein the area on the map above, use thebranch swingstoclimbas high as you can. Watch for enemies, then jump up tothe upper platformshere.Aim a flame at the trigger just above you, slightly to the right, to open the door.

This Ability Cell is behind anEnergy Gate. Once you have enough energy, jump up to the corridor from the lower platform in this area, open the Gate, and collect your Ability Point.

When you jumpfrom the platform with the first Ability Cell(above), you’ll see your next onejust beyond the left wall. Use thehanging stone platformto jump up onto thetop of the root wallblocking your way, thenaim a careful flame through the spikes to your right, so it hits the trigger just beyond the spikes. Jumpback down to the platform belowthe first Ability Cell, thenbacktrackalong this corridor. Jump your wayback up and over the wall of tree trunkto your right to get the Ability Point you just saw.

This Cell requires plenty ofwall jumping, air dashing, and precisionto get. Jumpacross the stone platforms, wall jump to the left wall, air dash your wayacross the lavahere, and wall jump your way down so that you’rewall-hugging the right side of the platform with the lava. From there,dash across the water, wall jump tohold onto the wall to the right, andclimbto the top of that wall for the Ability Point.

From one of thelower platformsin the area,glideusing theupward air currentsto reach this high spot.

Using those same upwards currents, get to theright side of this area(just below where you got the last Ability Cell), and use the current todrift upward toward a crack in the tree trunk to the left. It’s a platform containing theswitch you needto open the corridor below, so dash the switch andreturn to the doorway that was sealed. Go through this corridor, being careful of the enemies here, and thensmash the rock platformtoget into the waterbelow to grab the Ability Cell from under here.

Take out the enemyalong the wallthat leads into the water in this area,sliding downyourself.Open the gate just beneath the water’s surfacefor the Ability Cell.

You’ll approach Ability Cell number onefrom above. We landed on the platform above the Ability Point itself andwall jumped downinto the corridor with the Point.

From the Map Stonein the area, jump to theleft section of wall over the water tunnelandwall jump to the top. It’s a smallshortcutthat leads through what looks like the border of the map, and it takes you to right above the Ability Cell.Air dash the rock platformto drop in and collect it.

This Ability Point is on asmall upper platformin the area with broken pillars to jump across and enemies that attack throughout. Get to thefurthest platformwith theenemy spitting purple projectiles directly above you, anduse one of the projectiles to air dashyour way upward.Jumpto close the distance between you and the branch with the Ability Point.

Jump off the large cliff to the rightside of this area and use theupward air draft to glideyour wayup and to the leftto find the final Ability Cell in the area.

The first Ability Cell can be found bysliding down the leftmost wallin this large, open area. The Ability Cell is just inside aninlet in the wallto the left.

The second energy point on the map can be found in asmall inlet within the lower corridorson your map. You’ll see it when you drop into this area, sojump up onto the platform to the left(over the Ability Cell). Use awall jump to slide down the left wallin this area, thenjump to the platformwith the Ability Point before being hurt by the spikes.

Use aseries of air dashesto get up thisvertical corridorthrough the spikes and over to the Ability Point ona platform to the left.

Whilewall hugging the wall on the leftin this area,dash into the stone pillar to break itand get the Ability Cell on the other side.

Break the wooden bridge as you enter the Valleyto get the Ability Point below.

This Ability Point is hidden on a platformbehind the vines in the upper right corner of the area with the upward draft.Glideintowhat appears to be the cornerto land on the platform.

Wall hug the wall opposite the stone pillaranddashinto it to break it to gain access to the Ability Cell.

This Ability Cell is blocked. To open it, get tothe platform above the Ability Pointand follow it into the open area, then look in theupper left cornerfor aswinging branchto jump to. Aim yourself carefully with anair dash to ping-pong off the bits of wall exposed between the spikesandpress the leverat the bottom,oraim aflameif you’re more comfortable with that (both processes work). Return to the now-opened gate to claim your Ability Cell.

Keep running leftpast where you climb into the unmapped area, navigating obstacles as they come.Drop into a small opening all the way to the leftto grab this Ability Cell.

There’s also an Ability Cell along the unmapped route to the Ancestral Tree, which we were unable to mark for you in the image above without a map layout of the space.

You’ll find it as you’remaking your way to this Ancestral Treethrough the area without a map, though - it’s difficult to miss on this path.

From theplatform above where the Ability Point ismarked on the map, guide Ori through aglide down the left wall, being careful of the spikes. The Ability Cell is on asmall platform along the left wall.

On your map, you’ll see acorridorthat’sblocked by a stone pillar. Standing on theswinging branch by the spiked cornerabove the pillar,aim a flame off into the spikesin the upper-right tohit the triggerthat opens the corridor.Jump over into the doorwayto claim the Ability Cell.

This Ability Cell ispast the clusters of spikesin the area marked above on the map.Jump into a wall hugagainstthe right side of the pillar jutting upanddash past the spikes to the right.Dash againto get up to the Ability Point on the right in this area.

In the corridor with theoddly-shaped circular ceiling section, you’ll find aring of spikeswith an opening above.Air dash your way up and over this rounded section of spikesand take out the enemy quickly on the other side. The Ability Point is just to the left.

Slide down the long wall on the rightof the corridor leading to the Ability Point, being mindful of the enemies nearby.Dash over the spikesin the next area to the right to get to solid ground past them, with the jump pad.Use the jump padto get your height, thenair dash overto the platform with the Ability Point.

While thelaserto the left isstopped,shoot a flame at the bounce pad to the rightof where you’re standing in such a way that itbounces up to the next jump pad and over to the rocksblocking your vertical jump upward. Once they’re gone,air dash into a wall jumpto the small platform by the stone pillar blocking the corridor with the Ability Cell.Jump to the flat treetopjust above the laser andair dash to the platform in the upper right cornerof your screen with thelever. Once the pillar is gone, glide down to claim the Ability Point.

On your map, this one looks like it’s separate from the rest of Black Root Burrows, but it’s connected bysecret passageway. In the area to the left of where the Ability Point is,get into the water and swim toward what looks to be the bottom right cornerof the area on your map. You’ll find ahidden tunnelwithtwo stone pressesand plenty of enemies to slow you down, but the Ability Cell is on a platform on the other side of it all.

While floating down the large areawith the updraft, there’sa small ledge in the left wall that looks like a blocked off platform.Walk leftinto the hidden area with the Ability Point.

This Ability Cell is behind alocked door. From the Ability Point itself,head right, jump downthis area with the updraft,run left, jump down again, and situate yourselftoward the right in the small section with the opening in the ceiling.Jumpup there, andthe lever is on the left.Backtrackthrough these steps on theupdraftsto claim the Ability Cell.

Guide yourself through the spikesand air bash your way over into awall jump to hold onto the left wallpast the spikes. Wall jump and doanother air bash to the left wall, then drop on in.Head leftfrom here, and before you get to the next pit of spikes, you’ll be able tojump up into an openingand grab the Ability Cell on the left.

As we mentioned at the beginning of this guide, you may discover that you end withmore Ability Pointsthan there are abilities to max out if you grab each Ability Cell throughout Ori and the Blind Forest.

No worries - so long as youfill out the entire skill treeusing these points, you should still obtain thePhenom achievement or trophyfor finishing it.
