You will find an unlikely student in Rosa var Attre, a Nilfgaardian noble that you meet duringThe Witcher 3’smain storyline. She asks Geralt for fencing lessons after a surprise meeting on the witcher’s search for his friend, the bard Dandelion. This lesson leads to what will become a memorable adventure and side quest, for all the wrong reasons.
Fencing Tutor
You will need to complete the main questBroken Flowersto unlock Fencing Lessons.Geralt will get acquainted with the var Attre daughters as he questions the many women his friend Dandelion had spoken with.
Rosa var Attre will ask Geralt for fencing lessons before he leaves their estate. This quest willautomatically beginif you accept her offer.
Rosa will only ask for lessons ifyou win both fights against her.If she manages to defeat Geralt even once, she will not be interested in what he has to teach.
The quest willcontinue after one day passes.Geralt will have toreturn to the var Attre villato search for his new pupil.
Battle At The Bridge
The var Attre guards will tell Geralt thatRosa had left the villaand is waiting for him at Novigrad’s outskirts. She is a relatively short distance away, near theSeven Cats Inn,if you want to fast travel.
The noblewoman is eagerly awaiting Geralt, dismissing her escort as soon as she sees her instructor. She willdemand a duel at the bridgeusing steel weapons. You will have todefeat her once again.
You will be fighting with one hand being your back, in a way. Geralt will beunable to use signsduring the fight, though you can still usepotions.
This will be a test of martial skill, though the examiner and student will depend on your own capabilities.
She will ask Geralt to turn away while she changes, using his momentary distraction torun away.You will need to chase her down.
Choosing How To Deal With The Drunks
Geralt will need to track her down withhis Witcher Senses.Go to the quest marker andlook for her footsteps.She will not be far away.
Rosa will have gotten into a brush with reality as to locals have started threatening her. You will need tointervene for your own sake.
Geralt will have three options in dealing with the situation.
Kill Them
Geralt willfight and kill both of themto ensure that Rosa does not come to harm.
Bribe Them
You will pay50 crownsto get the two drunks to back off. You will earn asmall experience reward for doing so.
Charm Them
This optionwill only be available with Delusion at level one.Geralt will be able to get the pair to leave without further trouble.
There will be a final conversation about Rosa’s attitude before the quest ends.
