Here, we are going to take a look at the difference between normal and Reboot servers in MapleStory. Overall, both server types provide the full MapleStory experience, and both have their own benefits. Now let’s take a quick look at how to choose between these two servers.
Choosing A Server
Choosing a server begins when you first start the game and make a character. Basically,when you make your character, you will choose the server that you are on.
It’s important to note thatwhen you choose a server, you will not be able to switch later.This means that if you level up a character on a normal server and want to switch to a Reboot server, you will not be able to.
In the past, world transfer events have taken place, but this isn’t common. If, by some chance, another world transfer does happen, you most likely won’t be able to transfer between Reboot and normal servers. This transfer will apply to servers of the same type.
What Is A Reboot Server?
Trading & Purchasing
Now that we know how to pick a server, let’s go over the differences between normal and Reboot.
Most importantly,Reboot servers don’t allow trading between players.Additionally, the paid currencyNX cannot be used in a Reboot server.
Rather than using NX,purchases are made with Mesos, which can be earned by defeating monsters, completing quests, or selling items.
These two factors create a more self-reliant experience, as you won’t be trading with other players.This encourages you to seek out items and craft yourself,rather than finding someone who has what you are looking for.
Monster Difficulty
On a Reboot server,all monsters will be slightly stronger,but this is made up for in the Mesos and experience you earn when they are defeated.
The loot dropped with be beneficial andpertain to your current classas well, making it easier to find good gear.
Item Removal
A normal MapleStory server can feel a bitpay-to-win.To combat this, a few items have been removed from the world, as well as from the store. In a Reboot server, you will not find the following items.
New Rewards
Those who start on a Reboot server will also getunique gift boxes every 30 levels.These will providevaluable rewards such as Mesos and Epic Potential Scrollsthat can’t be obtained anywhere else.
Rather than being tied to the server, these boxes are tied to your account. This means thatyou will only be able to open a box once per account!
Upon starting a game, you will receive somepotions and a pet Snail as well.
Reboot Class Limitations
Overall, there are not many limitations for starting on a Reboot server. Above, we already mentioned that you won’t be able to trade on a Reboot server.
In addition to this,you will not be able to choose the Zero class.This is a relatively difficult class to master, but this learning curve is made up for in high attack and mobility.Other than this class, you can choose anyone that you want when starting on a Reboot server.
Which Server Is Better?
The best server ultimately comes down to personal preference. Below, you can check out some pros and cons of both server types.
So, which do you choose? Fortunately,you have the ability to choose both!Rather than committing to one server type, try making characters on both servers.The main difference to keep in mind is the availability of NX and player trading.
Players populate both server types, however,Reboot servers tend to be a bit laggier than the normal servers.
If you don’t care about trading with other players and just want to quickly level up, you may be more in favor of a Reboot server. If, on the other hand, you value trading and don’t mind spending real money, then consider a normal server.
