Theatrhythm: Final Bar Lineinstills manyFinal Fantasymechanics into the game, including item usage. All the standard items are here, including potions, hi-potions, and phoenix down. Okay, we’ll admit there’s no ether. But who wants to deal with managing MP anyway?

Still, you may wonder: what items do youreallyneed in a rhythm RPG like Theatrhythm? Can you survive music stages without equipping potions? What ability scrolls offer the best results? And what the heck isMog’s Amulet? We can’t speak for every musical adventurer. But, in our opinion, the following items are Theatrhythm essentials.

10Mog’s Amulet

Mog’s Amuletis an excellent consumable item for collectible hunters. However, there are other ways you can increase your CollectaCard drop rate. For instance, you can improve your party’s luck or equip abilities like Rare Collector or CollectaCard Magnet. Still, Mog’s Amulet is a reasonably common item requiring less work, making it a great find.

9Potions

Potionsare a standard item in any RPG. But, in this case, they may be less necessary, depending on your level of finger-dexterity and musicality. After all, your party only takes damage after missing a trigger or falling under a status ailment. Therefore, you’re able to save your potions bybeing good at Theatrhythm. However, potions will help you perform advanced difficulty songs. They also come in handy for HP preservation missions.

8Phoenix Down

Phoenix Downis another valuable item that you may not use often. However, these tufts are vital when taking on the most demanding music stages. For instance, if you’re dipping your feet into Ultimate or Supreme music stages, you should equip Phoenix Down. Then, when you narrowly avoid a Game Over at the song’s end, you’ll be thankful you did.

7Ruin Scroll

Non-elemental magic is a helpful resource in Theatrhythm. For instance, non-elemental magic avoids enemy resistance, thus causing more damage. Unfortunately, not every character has a handy non-elemental ability. Thankfully, ability scrolls, like theRuinScroll, are here to help! We like the Ruin ability because it’s a non-elemental ability with unlimited uses. Compared to the Meltdownability, which has an ability scroll, Ruin is much easier to use.

6Provoke Scroll

Advanced players will gain significant advantages from theProvoke Scroll. For instance, casting Provoke can give your party a better opening to impart damage if you’re fighting an enemy with resistance across every physical and magical attribute. However, you must battle with your best rhythmic skills to avoid the enhanced attacks Provoke grants your enemy.

5Rhythmia Plus Scroll

As your Rhythmia points rise, your Rhythmia rewards will occur less often. This increased space between rewards makes vital power-ups and growth eggs harder to receive. Fortunately, theRhythmia Plus Scrollcan teach a party member an ability that increases the Rhythmia earned after a music stage. More rhythmia will lead to more power-ups, leading to increased stats. Therefore, Rhythmia Plus is a fantastic ability to equip while level-grinding.

4Speed Plus

Agility is your party’s essential skill to advance through Field Music Stages. After all, this stat hastens the rate at which your party travels from one battle to the next. So, if you wish to improve your party’s success in an FMS, assist them with some doses ofSpeed Plus.

3Mind Plus

If agility is the key skill for FMSs, then spirit is necessary for Battle Music Stages. Spirit determines the summon gauge’s fill rate and your summoned monster’s attack power. Summons do not appear in FMSs. However, in a BMS, a strong attack from a summoned monster can take down swathes of enemies or super-powered bosses. Therefore,Mind Plus, which increases spirit, is a crucial power-up.

2Guard Plus

Who doesn’t love a good HP boost? After all, the more HP your party has, the more endurance they’ll have in battle. Increasing your party’s HP in Theatrhythm is especially helpful because it will allow you more room to make mistakes on complex songs without getting knocked out. So, naturally,Guard Plusis a healthy power-up item for anyone on your team.

1Growth Eggs

We love growth eggs. These experience-farming goodies give us instant serotonin boosts every time we use them. Plus, theGold Growth Eggis incredibly elusive. So, they are a godsend when they come into your possession. However, the best boost you can receive is combining theSilver and Gold Growth Eggsfor an eight-times EXP multiplier!
