Ever sinceCrime Boss: Rockay Citywas first announced, a lot of players couldn’t wait to get their hands on the criminal world of the game. It brings the Roguelike, Stealth, and FPS genres together where you play as Travis Baker who wants to control Rockay City after its king’s recent demise.

You’ll be going through a bunch of big and small robberies whenever you start a new campaign, but everything resets if Baker is eliminated. While playing the game, you’ll notice that a few changes could make the experience a lot better for the players.
7Better Ways To Detect Nearby Enemies
Travis Baker is a gang leader, but the game still rewards players for stealthing around and punishes them for using brute force where it’s not necessary. If you want to finish a mission successfully, you’ll have to work around the cameras and different NPCs while you’re trying to rob some items or eliminate hostiles.
Due to this, it becomes extremely important to know when an NPC or a camera is near you. The game currently has no effect to tell you that apart from faint footsteps or rare dialogues. Moreover, if an NPC or camera is too close to you, it’ll detect you before you can even react and hide.

To prevent this, specific audio cues for camera panning and better NPC footsteps are necessary.
6Removing The Dialogue Overlap
Dialogue overlapping is one of the biggest things that will take your immersion away in Crime Boss: Rockay City. There will be times when your crew members will mention that you’ve got enough loot, and then say that you should grab some more in the same breath. This makes a little more sense when Nasara asks “Are you certain?”

Moreover, there are also times when your crew members would ask you to grab some more even though there is no more loot. Though these dialogues don’t affect your decisions as much, it’d still be nice to have clean communication from your crew members.
5Improving The NPC Movement
The NPC interaction in Crime Boss: Rockay City lacks in some other ways as well. For example, there might be situations when you’re trying to put the speed meter on your Buzzsaw in the correct zone but a crew member comes in the way, which leads to the saw overheating or not reaching the cyan area.
This can be quite frustrating since you’re mostly using the Buzzsaw in heated moments as you get attacked by the police. Moreover, you’ll also see situations where the loot bags are dropped on the ground but your crew runs around them for a few seconds before picking them up.

4Linear Difficulty Scaling
At the moment, the campaign mode in the game seems very irregular with its difficulty. For example, you might go on a tier three armored truck mission and get out without a scratch, while there are also times when the same missions can be impossible to get out of because of certain traps.
Moreover, the police will feel easy to deal with during the first two badges on the top-right of your screen, but the third badge ramps up the difficulty immensely. There needs to be a linear growth in difficulty so that the players can gauge a mission’s risk properly. Spending plenty of hours in a campaign to lose it all to a trap doesn’t feel good.

3Permanently Unlocking Certain Crew Members
There are two ways to unlock crew members in Crime Boss: Rockay City. You can either buy them in the Teams section or they’re randomly unlocked when you finish their story. Cracker is one of the crew members that you have to buy even after finishing his story. You’ll have to spend over $100,000 to get good crew members.

Since the game is Roguelike in nature, it wouldn’t be terrible if some crew members were unlocked permanently. These can either be story-based crew members like Jupiter or expensive members like Cracker or Runaway. You already get the achievement when you finish a member’s story once, so there’s no reason to do them again since they’re the same.
2Marking The Intimidated NPCs For Longer
When you intimidate a guard or a civilian, you’ll see a red eye appear on their head, which will disappear in a couple of seconds as they sit or lie down. This can be dangerous in some situations since all the NPCs in a certain radius get intimidated by the action.
There are times when an NPC past a corner or on another floor gets intimidated, and these enemies have a chance to run away if you don’t tie them up. Having someone successfully run away just because you didn’t know you intimidated them feels quite bad since they activate the alarm for the police.

1More Special Missions
At the moment, Crime Boss: Rockay City has four special missions: Dragon Dogs, Hidden Vault, Import Export, and Money Train. After playing the campaign mode a few times, these special missions get quite repetitive since they also stay pretty much the same.
Robbing warehouses, banks, and malls also gets repetitive along with the Turfwar itself. The game could use some more variety that’d be enough for players to not feel like they’re playing the same thing. A repetition-prevention for some of these missions can also be a useful step.
