The Berserkers fromDungeons & Dragonsare one of the most famous classes the game has to offer. These damage sponges are popular to their simplicity and ferocity; You can take and cause a lot of pain, making them extremely useful in the fights to come.

All that said, their simplicity ends up coming with tropes and strategies that are common to most Barbarian players, as well as funny situations that can end up happening from the players roleplaying.
10"I Attack"
What do you do when the enemy appears, when a door resists your attempts to open it, or when a Rogue tries to steal your money? Barbarians have a great solution to most adversities that occur during the campaign — they attack.
Attacking whoever is in front of you, for whatever reason, often appears to be the perfect way to solve problems, even if it’s a good way to create problems too. Still, you can focus on the consequences after you attack.

9Excessive Gore
Let’s hope your friends are okay with the occasional gore. Of all classes, Barbarians are known for being the aggressive ones - as mentioned in the ultimate solution to your problems above. However, such a solution, when applied to your enemies, may lead to some unsavory descriptions. You’re not going to cuddle your enemies whenyou’re raging, after all.
This might be something worth talking to your friends before, just in case someone has a problem with you going all Game of Thrones on your foes. But then again, there’s no fun in a Barbarian who doesn’t get creative with their “craft”.

8Ignoring Plans
Going back a bit on the Barbarian’s greatest solution to all - attacking - sometimes our party members aren’t so keen on the idea. The squishy ones tend to prefer tactics that involve not receiving damage. Typical nonsense from those who can’t reach 100 hit points.
Thus, when their over-elaborated plans finally start going wrong, you can simply unsheathe your Axe and do what you came to do: Fight. Jokes aside, constantly being against the party is not good player behavior. Still, nothing stops the great Barbarian to sit back and wait until plan B is necessary.

7Forgetting Half Damage
You may have the highest hit die of all classes, and it may be combined with a nice Tough feat to make your health even greater, but that doesn’t mean you are immune to dying. That said, whenever the DM says that you’ve received a terrifyingly high amount of damage, it’s always important to remember: Are we supposed to takeallthat?
Rage, among other things, gives you resistance to some types of damage. But if you forget that - and if the DM forgets that too - you may take more damage than you’re supposed to. The feeling of only remembering that after the fight is done - or worse, after losing your character to all that damage - is not the most pleasant of feelings.

6When Strength Fails
Have you ever felt the pure dread that is facing a giant monster? A dragon perhaps? Something you’re able to’t grapple, toss or carry around? What’s the point of being the strongest if you’re facing a creature that will easily crush you with its foot?

Sure, Barbarians will still do what they do best, and they can cause and take a lot of damage, killing the monster and saving their friends from harm. But it’s not the same easy feeling you have compared to grabbing your enemy and throwing them around just because you can. It’s a great opportunity to get creative, though.
5The Pack Mule
Continuing the whole Strength conversation, there’s a good chance you’ll be the strongest in your party, or at least close. Barbarians are the only ones who can naturally reach 24, after all — even if that’ll only happen at level 20.
There’s a good chance your friends will want you to carry all the heavy stuff, especially if your species gives you extra carrying capacity. Not to mention the unconscious people you’ll end up carrying around, too.

4Dumb Barbarian Trope
Some people love it, some people hate it, but Barbarians are often considered to be the dumb ones in the party. It’s something that doesn’t make a lot of sense. Fighting does require intelligence, and to be fair to Barbarians, a lot of classes placelow values on their Intelligence scores. After all, there are few characters that actually need to have a decent Intelligence score.
However, no one makes fun of the Paladin who has eight as their Intelligence ability score. The ‘dumb one’ trope will always fall on you, even if you don’t have a negative modifier to your Intelligence rolls. It’s just part of D&D culture at this point.

3Mind Control Target
You’re strong, and you’re resistant to damage, meaning you can destroy a lot of things in your path. However, your Wisdom is probably not that high, and that gives your DM a beautiful opportunity to mess around with you — with mind-control spells.

There are things you can do about it, but more often than not, Barbarians are a DM’s favored targets. That means you have to be careful when reaching higher-level enemies.
2Everything Is A Weapon
Sometimes, our weapons are not as efficient as they can be. They can break, or they can be tossed aside. But a good Barbarian knows that this is no excuse to stop fighting.Tavern Brawleris a thing, after all.
In the proper hands, anything can be a weapon. A chair can be a weapon. Your fists can be weapons. Your Halfling Rogue “friend” who stole your money can be a weapon. Jokes aside, you are a good option too when it comes to throwing allies around, which can be used as weapons. Just have their consent first.

1Having The Chilliest Character Sheet
There’s something very relaxing when it comes to playing a Barbarian in a long campaign; It’s simple. Every time you and the party level up, you’ll see your friends, probably the spellcasters, all worried about spells and builds, to make sure they’ll be as powerful as they can be. And you?
“Oh, awesome! Level five, I finally got Extra Attack!”. All you have to check is your health increase, your number of Rage and its extra damage, and if you got a new feature. You can get your character done in five minutes unless you want a feat or something. So you just do what you have to do and take a step back; maybe get something to eat since other players may take a while to get their sheets together.
