Summary
Stardew Valleyis known for being a very relaxing farming game. There isn’t much in this game that will get you upset, maybe other than forgetting to water crops or having to run around everywhere, but its stress-free gameplay is what we come to love.
The base game of Stardew Valley is what captured the hearts of many with its rich storytelling and cozy gameplay. Even with this, there are still a few things that would upgrade that base game. There are some mods that do just that without changing the gameplay. These mods will make your life on the farm a little easier.

Updated July 22, 2025 by Jouanna Bondakji:There are countless mods that add a ton of play time and enjoyment to this game, from cosmetic to QoL. Hands down, though, some of the best mods to look into are the ones that let you do things more efficiently. With these mods, a lot of the guessing, looking up, and busywork is eliminated, so you have more time to actually play the game. We’ve added even more useful mods so that you don’t have to sweat the small stuff.
18Time Master
Ever felt like you never have enough time in the game? Or maybe you’re just the kind of person who generally gets anxious with time limits. Time management is an important part of the game, especially with the passing of the seasons and their designated events. But sometimes, if you just had alittlemore time, you’d have more fun.
Luckily, this mod exists. It lets you slow down or fully pause time to allow you to get work done before the day ends. you may slow it down in specific areas, as well as keep machines running while time is frozen if you want to. It even has featuresfor multiplayer modethat you can adjust for fairness.

17NPC Map Location
Interacting with the various NPCs in Stardew Valley is half the fun, but withso many of themrunning around and the limited time you have, it can become hard to keep track of all of them. This mod remedies that by allowing you to see NPCs on the map as little icons, so you’ll never have to waste time searching for them again.
Now, you’re able to plan your shop visits in accordance with the available NPCs you’re interested in much more easily. As a bonus, the mod also lets you see where your fellow players are on the map, so you and your friends will never be unintentionally separated for too long.

16Billboard Anywhere
Stardew Valley’s billboard is the main way of looking at and accepting available quests. It’s a good excuse to play more, and the quest rewards are a nice plus. But it can be a pain to constantly have to walk all the way to the billboard every time you want to see if there are any new quests or check the details of one you’ve already accepted.
This mod saves you a lot of time by letting you access the billboard anywhere, letting you see both regular and special quests anytime you want. It also has the calendar built-in, so you can check when NPCs' birthdays and town events are regardless of where you are, too.

15Fishing Info Overlays
Fishing can be a very tedious task in Stardew. It can take quite a while, and trying to remember what fish spawn during a specific season can take a little time out of your gaming session to look it up on the wiki.
This is where this mod can help you out. The overlay displays the info on what fish are currently available at your fishing spot. There is a percentage showing how likely you are to catch the fish with a fishing rod or when using the crab pots. The overlay is very customizable and is sure to help you out every season.

14Lumisteria Glimmering Clumps And Nodes
Mining is one of the tasks in Stardew Valley that can be both fun and boring at times. There are a few different ways to mine, but there are not a lot of surprises once you explore all the levels of the regular mines and Skull Cavern.
This mod aims to add a great surprise for your mining trips. This mod adds nodes and clumps to the mines which containmetal ores, gems, and even some minerals. They stand out like the boulders, making them very noticeable. This mod rewards the player for mining while being balanced in its rewards.

13Lookup Anything
When it comes to finding out things, the Stardew Valley Wiki is the go-to source for all the information on the game. However, it can take away from your gaming sessions since you have to tab out of the game. This is a mod that brings all the information you need in-game.
By pressing F1 while hovering your cursor over something, you can get detailed information about whatever it is. This includes villager info such as likes, dislikes, friendship level, etc. It also works on crops, animals, and a variety of items. There is also a search feature that lets you look up what you need.

12To-Dew
This is by far one of the best pun-named mods, but it is also an extremely useful one. If you haven’t figured it out, this mod lets you create a to-do list for your day or season in Stardew Valley.
you’re able to set a hotkey, which lets you bring up the to-do list, and from there, you can add all the stuffthat needs to be done around the farmand the town. Once you add your items, the list will be displayed as an overlay on the top left side of your screen. After you complete a task, just click it, and it will be marked out. Then, at the end of the day, it will be removed, and all your other tasks remain. This mod is great for everyone whether you’re starting out or a seasoned veteran.

11Save Anywhere
We have all, at one time or another, experienced doing daily tasks or missions in Stardew Valley and needing to get off the computer. The hassle of this is you need to run to your bed, and once you sleep in it, you pass the day, which can sometimes ruin those tasks or missions.
This is where this mod comes in handy. Perhaps the simplest but one of the most useful mods on this list is being able to save your progress from anywhere on the map at almost any time of the day with a simple keybinding. The best part about this is your progress saves without going to the next day or sleeping in a bed.

10Better Chests
Chests are basically a must if you want to organize your stuff, but once you get to a certain quantity, things can get messy pretty quickly. With this mod, you get a bunch of handy features to help with chest organization in more ways than one.
Some of these include being able to CTRL+F items in chests to instantly find what you’re looking for, giving chests specific item categories so that only those types of items can be stored in those chests, and even putting chests in your inventory to immediately store items you picked up. That’s just scratching the surface, so definitely check this mod out if you’re looking for easier chest usage (or just like organizing things).

9Better Junimos
Junimos are adorable, and when you get to the endgame, they will always have a place on your farm if you get one of their huts. They can farm, and, well, that’s about it. This mod adds to that.
With this mod, you can have the Junimos plant your crops, fertilize, water, and harvest your crops. They will also clear the crops that have died and will avoid harvesting flowers. If the hut is in range of your greenhouse the Junimos will enter and work in there as well. They will also work in the rain, during the winter, and you can pay them for their work too.
