When it comes to cheerleaders in media, they’re usually represented in one of two ways. They’re either arrogant people who look down on everyone else or innocent people who are really sweet. Either way, it makes for some stereotypical characters.

Thankfully, this is a bigger issue in movies and television than it is in gaming. Some cheerleaders in games do have those stereotypical traits, but there are usually other elements to their personalities. For example, they may also be martial artists or zombie killers. Whatever it is, it makes them more compelling, and it’s a big reason why the following characters stand out.
8Tiffany Lords – Rival Schools Series
When it comes to Capcomfighting games, Street Fighter and Marvel Vs Capcom are the first to come to mind. But the company also developed the Rival Schools series. Tiffany Lords is a character in these lesser-known fighting games.
She is a cheerful American woman who is attending high school in Japan. While an American teenager heading east for their education is unique, that isn’t the most interesting thing about this teenager. After all, this is a girl who often joins her allies on serious investigations. Most of these excursions lead to battle, and her fighting style heavily incorporates her cheerleading and kickboxing skills.
7Mandy Wiles – Bully
Bully is one of thebest games to be set in a school. And that school is called Bullworth Academy. It’s a very stereotypical American institution that’s filled with classic cliques, such as nerds, bullies, jocks, preppies, and greasers. Plus, there are also cheerleaders, who can often be found hanging with the jocks.
The head of this group is Mandy Wiles. She acts how you would expect if you’ve seen a lot of high school shows and movies. The woman is incredibly arrogant and mean, but this comes from her own insecurities.

There are a bunch of professional wrestlers who are former cheerleaders. Yet, most of them don’t feature as such on the shows themselves. InWWE 2K15, though, Naomi has a cheerleading gimmick. Thus, she comes down to the ring dancing around with pom poms in her hands.
However, unlike the standard cheerleader, she’s not just there to dance and hype other people up. She is a wrestler, too. And in the ring, she uses her cheerleader-like athleticism to get the best of her opponents.
5Mii Koryuji – Project X Zone
Project X Zone brings characters from various Capcom and Bandi Namco properties together for some tactical RPG fun. Among the well-known faces are a few original characters. One of them is Mii Koryuji.

Unlike most of the popular kids at Blackwell, she is actually a nice person. Dana doesn’t look down on people that are less popular than her. Instead, she is kind to everyone regardless of their place on the social ladder.
3Ashley Thompson – Obscure
Cheerleaders are usually all about bringing joy, but cheerleader Ashley Thompson doesn’t get much chance to do that in Obscure. After all, this is a survival horror game that begins with her boyfriend going missing. This serves as the start of her adventure, which occurs at her school, Leafmore High.
Because of the situation she is in, you don’t get to witness her cheerleading skills. But her strong will and hard-headiness are on full show. Plus, it quickly becomes clear that she is an excellent fighter and survivor.
2Megumi Suzuki – Asuka 120% Series
Asuka 120% is a series of Japanese fighting games that are set in a private school. It seems to be a pretty upstanding establishment. However, every year they have a big marital arts tournament that pits school clubs against one another. Various clubs are represented in the contest, including the cheerleaders.
Competing on their behalf is Megumi Suzuki. She is a popular kid who goes into fights wielding her pom poms, which are surprisingly effective in battle. Along with them, she relies on her athletic ability to pick up victories.
1Juliet Starling – Lollipop Chainsaw
On the surface, Juliet from Lollipop Chainsaw seems like a traditional high-school cheerleader. She is young, joyful, and innocent. However, her big secret is that she comes from a family of zombie hunters, and she shares their talents for killing the undead. This comes in handy when a zombie outbreak occurs at her school.
To rectify the situation and save as many people as possible, she is forced to thin the horde. To do that, she uses her agility, pom poms, and even her boyfriend’s decapitated head. Yet, her signature weapon is a largechainsaw, which she uses to better effect than almost anyone in gaming. She does all that while wearing her cheerleader outfit.
