Problem is, she has forgotten who she once was, and must now explore her past as she fights to win Asgard the battle that decides the fate of all creation. In addition to her faithful sword and ice crystals, she also has access to a wide array of spells that she or her allies can use to vanquish enemies. Here are some of the best.
10Firestorm
Firestorm is one of the most useful beginner spells you may have in your arsenal, especially if you’re still getting the hang of combos as you go up against a large group of enemies. What makes this fire elemental spell a common favorite is that it combines a very low CT with the convenience of hitting all your enemies at once — a feature specific to all Great Magic spells.
It’s also great fun to use because it hurls your enemies into the air à laMortal Kombatand lets you collect experience crystals at your leisure. You can also use it at the end of your sequence, instead of mid-fight, to get maximum damage.

9Shadow Servant
Shadow Servant is another great starter spell to get you through those first few battles. Unless you start with Gandar, you would need to acquire a Shadow Servant spellbook or a Shadow Crystal to use this spell.

Shadow Servant summons a creature of the darkness to fight for you. If you set it as your default attack spell with Mystic Cross and augment your damage with a handful of Lucid and Might potions, you’ll receive great results.
8Lightning Bolt
This lightning-elemental attack spell is classified as a Dragon Bolt, a type of Great Magic which deals several hits at a time, and may even paralyze the enemy. It also builds gauge by eight for each of its three hits, giving you a significant energy boost as you try to reload your Special Attack.
The Lightning Bolt spell is commonly cast second during a Purify Weird Soul sequence, and can only be used if your weapon supports Great Magic.

7Fire Lance
Fire Lance is a common favorite because it can instantly kill your enemy. It also has a significantly short charge time of three seconds, making it a go-to default spell for skilled sorcerers.

This fire-elemental spell is classified as a Calamity Blast, a type of Great Magic that also deals several hits. Unlike Lightning Bolt, though, it doesn’t charge up your gauge with a lot of energy, making it useful on the spot as the first spell of a Purify Weird Soul sequence.
6Frigid Damsel
The Frigid Damsel spell is an absolute must-have for a number of reasons: it charges up your gauge by 15 for each of its three hits, building it up nearly halfway towards a special attack, it has a chance of freezing the enemy, and when used third in a Purify Weird Soul sequence, it will trigger a fourth attack, dealing a lot of damage to the enemy.
If you carry a Creation Jewel, the Frigid Damsel spellbook can alsobe transmuted into another must-have spell, Fire Storm. Lastly, and most importantly, the Frigid Damsel looks great, as the spell casts exactly what the name promises — a Frigid Damsel who serves multiple blows to your enemy with a long ice sword.

5Reflect Sorcery
Reflect Sorcery is an extremely useful type of defensive magic because of its style of defense — warding off oncoming attacks by reflecting them onto the enemy that dealt them. This works to your advantage because each sorcerer’s Great Magic depends on their chosen attack spell, so if your chosen attack spell is a defensive magic, the second spell also has to be defensive.
By choosing Reflect Sorcery, you ensure that you deal at least the same amount of damage that has been dealt to you, if not that same amount of damage three rounds in a row.

4Sap Guard
Sap Guard is a type of debilitating magic, which is meant to lower an enemy’s status. Unlike Sap Power, another debilitating spell that lowers the target’s ATK for five turns, Sap Guard instead reduces the target’s RDM, namely the enemy’s ability to counter your attacks by lowering their damage.

This spell is a favorite of many pro players, not just because it ensures that your blows hit the mark every single time, but also because it has an extremely low charge time of just one second, rendering you nearly immortal for as long it lasts.
3Poison Blow
Poison Blow is a buff of Poison Shot, a poison-elemental attack that has a 30 percent chance of poisoning your enemy. Poison Blow goes one step further, emitting a cloud of poison that envelops your enemy and deals damage to them. To keep things even-handed, its chance of poisoning your enemy is reduced to 12.5 percent, due its nature as a poison cloud rather than a poison shot.
If you play as Gandar or Lezard, you get it as an initial spell, and as with other spells classified as Petro Disruption, it is best used in the middle of a Purify Weird Soul sequence.

2Might Reinforce
You can hardly find a sorcerer who doesn’t use Might Reinforce, as it is an irreplaceable spell for defense. Unlike the Might Potion, the Might Reinforce spell can be used an infinite number of times per turn, as long as you wait until the first cast is through, or risk increasing your charge time.
Used to multiply your ally’s ATK by 50 percent for ten turns, Might Reinforce is so important that it is the only spellbook in Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth that cannot be transmuted from or into any other. It is also the initial spell for both Shiho and Lyseria.

1Mystic Cross
Mystic Cross is a holy-elemental attack spell whose Great Magic type is Celestial Star. As the initial spell of Lorenta, Mystina, Lyseria, and Lezard, Mystic Cross launches a slew of crosses at your enemy to deal as many as seven hits, charging up your gauge with a staggering 70 energy, which fills up nearly two-thirds of your Special Attack bar.
Like Frigid Damsel, Mystic Cross triggers a fourth attack when used third in a Purify Weird Soul sequence, maximizing an already pretty high damage load and often finishing off your enemy.
