EveryAssassin’s Creedgame is separated into missions or quests. And as there has been a litany of AC games by this point, that means there has also been an abundance of missions.

Most of them involve either climbing, puzzle solving, stealth, or murder. That is not to say they’re all alike, though. Each mission has something that makes it different from the others. And the best ones have plenty of things that allow them to stand out among the rest. That is the case with the following examples, which are the greatest missions the series has ever offered during its long history.

9Infrequent Flier (Assassin’s Creed 2)

Leonardo Da Vinci is easily one ofthe best non-Assassin characters in the series. He’s certainly among the most likable due to his general helpfulness, which he showcases in Infrequent Flier. In this one, Ezio uses the inventor’s flying machine and some tactically-placed bonfires to get inside the impenetrable Palazzo Ducale.

The excitement doesn’t end when he gets there, though. Once at his destination, Ezio must sneak past guards and get to the Doge before he’s killed. He doesn’t manage that, but he does get an immediate chance at vengeance.

8The Crocodile’s Jaws (Assassin’s Creed Origins)

It’s always nice when Assassin’s Creed strays away from its defined formula to give fans something different. This is the case for The Crocodile’s Jaws mission in Origins. This quest sees Bayek attempt to discover the identity of an Order Of The Ancients member known as The Crocodile.

To do that, he must enter the gladiator arena in Krokodilopolis and fight alongside an old friend. The mission is mostly about participating in a series of thrilling battles. On top of that, there is an interesting story, too.

7Confrontation (Assassin’s Creed Unity)

Taking out a major antagonist in Assassin’s Creed games typically involves stealthy assassinations or fighting a crew of people at once. However, in Unity’s Confrontation mission, Arno faces off against his old mentor, Pierre Bellec.

The two Assassins participate in an incredibly exciting duel against one another, which serves as one of the best andmost original boss fights in the series. Not only does it provide great action, but it’s also an emotional skirmish between two former allies.

6Kyrie Eleison (Assassin’s Creed Rogue)

One of Shay’s early missions in Rogue is called Kyrie Eleison. The quest sees the protagonist go to Lisbon to retrieve a Piece Of Eden. As is typically the case with these artifacts, the one you need to find is hidden inside a temple. So, you must do some enjoyable climbing around and puzzle-solving to reach it.

Yet, the best part of the mission comes at the end when you grab the artifact, and the whole city begins to crumble. It makes for a thrilling escape sequence. More than that, though, it’s a powerful moment that shows that there are consequences for the Assassins' actions.

5Pax Romana (Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood)

Cesare Borgia is one ofthe greatest villains in the series, so the confrontation with him had to be epic. Thankfully, the Pax Romana mission delivers the goods.

In it, Ezio tracks down his nemesis and doesn’t let fire, explosions, battle, or guards stop him. He is like a hooded Terminator as he chases down Cesare in a heart-pumping sequence. Then the two face off in a climatic clash in one of the first true boss fights in the series.

4Battle Of Bunker Hill (Assassin’s Creed 3)

Most Assassinations in these games occur within fortresses or hideouts. Yet, Ratonhnhaké:ton attempts to kill John Pitcairn on the battlefield. It isn’t just any battlefield, though. It’s the land where the Battle Of Bunker Hill takes place.

So, Ratonhnhaké:ton first must traverse the dangerous area without being shot to death. This makes for an exhilarating and unique sequence. When that’s over, the protagonist needs to use a bit of stealth to catch the military man by surprise. It’s one of the most lively Assassination missions in the series.

3The Treasure Fleet (Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag)

Black Flag is one ofthe best Pirate games ever, and entertaining missions like The Treasure Fleet are a big reason why. It gets off to a rocky start for the protagonist, Edward, as he’s being held captive by Templars.

He soon escapes, though, and gets his gear back. From there, he has to hop around multiple Templar ships, killing foes and saving pirates. It all takes place amid a fierce storm, which adds to the atmosphere and spectacle of the mission.

2Final Act (Assassin’s Creed Syndicate)

Syndicate has some outstanding Assassination missions. The one titled Final Act sees Jacob head to the Alhambra Music Hall. He’s not there to see a show - he’s there to kill Maxwell Roth.

To do so, he must sneak into the theater, which serves as a unique and memorable location. Then you get to decide how to go about reaching your target using the options available. Whatever your exact method, the mission is an exciting and very theatrical one that lives long in the memory.

1Cristina Missions (Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood)

This is more of a collection of missions rather than a singular one. But they all link together to tell one tale about the relationship between Ezio and Cristina. The latter wasn’t in Assassin’s Creed 2 for very long.

Yet, these flashback missions in Brotherhood show that she’s more important to Ezio than it initially seems. There isn’t much gameplay in these missions, but they’re still very compelling and emotional as you see the two characters engage in a tragic love story.
