There is a wide variety of spells available for you to use inV Rising. These spells, or abilities, are sorted by type, with certain types being more desirable than others. Classes include Blood, Chaos, Unholy, Illusion, Storm, and Frost. With all the spells in the game through, it can be hard to decide which ones to use. Thankfully, we’ve got your back.

Here, we are going to look at the best offensive spells. Every ability on our list is great for cutting down enemies in no time. All spells can be unlocked by obtaining spell points, which come from defeating bosses found around the map. Before we dive in, it’s important to remember that the build you choose is ultimately up to you. If any of these spells don’t really speak to you, you don’t have to use them.

These spells are presented in no particular order.

July 28, 2025 by Jacqueline Zalace:The 1.0 version of V Rising has finally launched! As such, we’ve updated this list will all the current best offensive spells in the game. Additionally, we’ve provided boxes displaying the stats of each spell, allowing you to see how it works.

1

v rising lightning ball spell

Fire two projectiles that deal 110% magic damage

8 seconds

v rising player using merciless charge

0.6 seconds

First up, we have the Chaos Volley spell. This is a simple spellthat launches two bolts, dealing magic damage, as well as inflicting Ignite. The effect of Ignite occurs when you use most Chaos spells and is essentially damage-over-time that lasts for several seconds.

v rising arctic leap info panel

So, what makes this spell so good? Chaos Volley can be obtained relatively early in the game and is a solid choice for dealing damage quickly. The spell has an eight-second cooldown, and rivals many late-game skills in terms of damage dealt.

Cast Time

Summon a ball of lightning that dea;s 180% magic damage and inflicts Static in an AoE

This explodes after 3 seconds and deals 50% more magic damage in the AoE

v rising willfred info panel with blood magic point highlighted

9 seconds

0.4 seconds

v rising player using aftershock

Storm magic wasn’t present in the initial early access launch of V Rising, but it’s a much-appreciated addition. With Ball Lighting, you’ll gain some crowd control abilities in addition to the typical Static effect applied by Storm spells.

When combined with spells that target specific enemies, you’re able to completely control the battlefield if Ball Lightning is in your loadout!

v rising volatile arachnid

3

Dash forward and grab an enemy, dealing 125% magic damage

v rising unholy magic

This will also deal 125% magic damage in the area and inflict both Ignite and Stun

120 seconds

v rising heart strike info panel

0.7 seconds

Merciless Charge is the first ultimate ability on our list. Although this is the ultimate Chaos magic spell, you can unlock it relatively early; after defeating Quincey the Bandit King in the Farbane Woods, you can obtain one level three Chaos magic point.

The combination of dashing, pushing, and dealing damage makes this spell quite alluring. It’s no secret that the limited dash can be a bit frustrating to deal with. Merciless Strike delivers a hard blow while also sending you across the battlefield.

Jump up and strike down, dealing 200% damage

This causes a frost nova that freezes enemies

N/A

This next skill belongs to the Frost magic category, serving as its ultimate ability. As such, it also has a cooldown of two full minutes. This powerful spell will cause you to jump into the air. When you land, a frost nova will trigger and freeze enemies for up to six seconds. If you are playing in a PvP world, then other players will be frozen for two seconds.

There is no denying that this spell is powerful. Itexcels in a PvP settingwhen you are playing with friends (and foes). Picture this; an enemy player enters your area. You and some friends all use Arctic Leap at the same time, dealing damage and freezing the player.

2

Fire a projectile dealing 75% percent magic damage

This will also drain 30% health and inflict Leach

Allies hit will heal for 120%, while you heal for 30% of spell power

6 seconds

0.5 seconds

Sanguine Coil is the first Blood magic skill on our list. Using this spell will deal 75 percent magic damage to enemies, as well as leeching those that are hit. This leech will heal allies as well as yourself, making this spell quite versatile.

As a spell that deals damage in addition to healing, Sanguine Coil is valuable. you may hold three charges of this spell, and it only has a cooldown of six seconds, allowing you to use it fairly frequently.

Hit the ground, causing a shockwave that deals 125% magic damage in a line

Much to no one’s surprise, Aftershock made its way on our list. This spell causes you to hit the ground, sending a shockwave out that deals 125 percent magic damage, as well as inflicting Ignite like other Chaos spells.

Unlike the other two Chaos spells on our list though, Aftershock is great for crowd control. Rather than aiming at an enemy, Aftershock will affect the surrounding area. Overall, you may’t go wrong with a Chaos spell. This spell can also be obtained early into the game.

Summon a giant spider that chases enemies and explodes, dealing 250% magic damage

This will also inflict Condemn and summon 3 additional spiderlings

These spiderlings will then explode and deal 125% magic damage (and inflict the Condemn effect again)

Volatile Arachnid is an incredibly powerful ultimate spell for Unholy magic. If you like summoner-type builds, then Volatile Arachnid is a worthy spell to use. With it, you may summon a giant spider as well as smaller spiderlings, with all of them dealing damage and exploding.

As with other Unholy spells, this will inflict Condemn, which increases damage dealt to enemies and summons unholy warriors when Condemned enemies die. Since Volatile Arachnid does a lot of damage in general, it will most likely summon a lot of warriors (if used on a group of enemies).

Summon a Death Knight that attackers enemies

Every attack that the Death Knight does will deal 50% magic damage and inflict Condemn

The knight lasts for 6 seconds

11 seconds

0.2 seconds

Death Knight is another Unholy spell and as such, it’s only natural that it summons an undead entity. The entity in question lasts for around half of the cooldown time, which means that you shortly summon it again.

While this skill may not be the best for PvP content, it’s great if you are playing on a PvP server. With a powerful Death Knight summoned, you essentially gain another teammate. This is helpful if you are fighting a powerful boss and need a few seconds to catch your breath and take a potion.

Dash forward in a line, hitting enemies and dealing 150% magic damage

This heals you for 150% of your spell power

After dashing, a nova of blood will spawn, dealing 150% more magic damage and inflict Leech in an AoE

Lastly, we have Heart Strike. This ultimate Blood ability causes you to dash forwards toward an enemy, dealing magic and healing yourself for an equal percent over 3.5 seconds. In addition to dealing damage, Heart Strike heals you, making it a great spell option.

This is perfect for tough enemies that deal a lot of damage to you. Rather than using an attack and then a healing ability, you may just Heart Strike once. The damage is nothing to scoff at, and overall, this is one of the best spells in the game.
