By the time you reach the Burning Shores inHorizon Forbidden West, you probably have a favorite Outfit or two. A Legendary Outfit, fully upgraded and enhanced with high-quality Weaves, let you stand against almost any foe without fear. Since your armor is arguably the most important part of your build, it’s always worth looking at new options when they appear.

The Burning Shores have several new Legendary Outfits available. Most can be purchased from the Stitcher in Fleet’s End, and one is a quest reward. Which one fits your play style best?
4Nora Lookout
Setting aside any questions of how the Quen got this gear when Aloy is the only Nora for three thousand miles or so, the Nora Lookout falls into the same trap as many of the other Survivor Outfits. It’s designed tokeep you alive in a tough situation, with enhancements to your healing from both Medicine and Potions. At maximum level, it offersLow Health Regenandtwo stacks of Second Chanceto keep you in the fight.
By the time you need the benefits of the Nora Lookout, you’re already in the process of losing a fight. Switching to it mid-battle can save a battle gone wrong, but its Resistances are mediocre compared to the other armor on this list. The best use for it is tobuy and upgrade it as an emergency measurebefore starting an Ultra Hard New Game Plus run.

3Quen Commander
This all-in melee offense Outfit isgreat for up-close fightsagainst small-to-medium machines and humans, but if you’ve ever tried to spear a Thunderjaw, you know that you’ll want to switch before fighting larger foes. The Quen Commander stacks just about every possible Resonator Perk, letting you build up and detonate a blast with only a few strikes. you may evenattach an Elemental Module to your spear, increasing your melee versatility!
The Quen Commander Outfit is great in the situations it’s built for, but falls off sharply when you need to switch to ranged combat. It does, however, boast aremarkable seventy-five Acid Resistance, making fights against machines like Acid Clawstriders a walk in the park. Itdoesn’t offer any Fire protection, though, so beware!

The Blacktide Quen Commander Outfit, which was part of the Burning Shores' preorder bonus, has thesame stats as the regular version- the only differences are cosmetic.

2Quen Marine
The Quen Marine is classified as an Infiltrator Outfit, but it feels a lot more like a Hunter build. Itturbo-charges Aloy’s Concentration, letting you take your time to line up the perfect shot even in the middle of combat. It alsoincreases the regeneration rate of Weapon Staminaand enhances your Valor Surges, letting youpull out all your best tricks in every fight.
This armor offers thebest overall protectionof the Burning Shores sets, weak only against Frost and Plasma, both of which are comparatively rare. This makes it a fine choice in nearly every encounter; if you can’t decide on an armor set, go with the Marine.

1Quen Deadeye
This Infiltrator Outfit is a stealth player’s dream, and it’s available almost from the beginning of the Burning Shores DLC. All you have to do iscomplete the Splinter Withinside quest, available immediately upon arriving at Fleet’s End by speaking to Theoa, and it’s yours.
When it’s fully upgraded, the Quen Deadeye offersboth Low Profile and Quiet Movement, ensuring that you can slip right up to unsuspecting enemies without alerting them. Its other skills make itamazing for sniping, letting you get the full benefit of Concentration and Overdraw while targeting critical components from the shadows.
No Outfit is perfect in Forbidden West, so there are some drawbacks to the Deadeye. Itdoesn’t offer any perks that enhance your Silent Strikes, so you may not be able to one-shot foes that you could with, say, the Utaru Winterweave. It’s alsoweak against Shock and Purgewater, the former of which can be a problem when fighting machines.
Overall, though, the protection offered by Quen Deadeye (particularly against Fire, the most common elemental damage type) makes it worth keeping even when you’re out of stealth. Be sure not to pass this one up!
