10David De Gea, Manchester United
David De Gea has been nothing short of amazing throughout his entire career, especially at Manchester United. It’s commonplace to consider him as the only reason the club stayed out of relegation territory after the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager in 2013.
To this day, De Gea is a phenomenal goalkeeper. He’s an 87 overall in FIFA 23 with minimal defeating attributes. His Reflexes are cat-like and his Positioning is near perfect. He’ll always be in a good spot when a shot comes off; if he isn’t, his quick reflexes will save him.
9Mike Maignan, A.C. Milan
French goalkeeper Mike Maignan is a brick wall in the net. His stats reflect his ability to keep teams in the game with quick thinking. You won’t find a better goalkeeper to use from Serie A.
Maignan’s 87 overall rating and 90 potential make him an excellent choice for a first-season Career Mode team.

8Keylor Navas - PSG, Nottingham Forest
PSG is full of talent and even has two of the best goalies in FIFA 23. Keylor Navas is one of them. The Costa Rica international is a veteran goalkeeper who has contributed countless clean sheets and saves to top-tier teams like Real Madrid and PSG. Most recently, he was sent on loan to Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

Navas is known as a reliable player. He’s comfortable with the ball at his feet and is more than capable inside the frame. An 85 Goalkeeping average earns him a spot as one of the best in the game.
7Marc-Andre ter Stegen, F.C. Barcelona
Marc-Andre ter Stegen first made a name for himself at German club Borussia Mönchengladbach’s academy, all the way throughhis under-21 days. Eventually, European club giant F.C. Barcelona snagged him, and he hasn’t looked back.
Ter Stegen has made 238 appearances for Barcelona since his transfer from his hometown club. He hasn’t seen much international play behind Manuel Neuer, but don’t let that fool you; Ter Stegen is one of the best. His 88 overall rating is more than enough to earn him a starting spot on your team for any mode.
6Gianluigi Donnarumma, Paris Saint-Germain
PSG’s starting goalkeeper is an 88 overall but with huge potential. Gianluigi Donnarumma is a golden prospect with the possibility of reaching a breathtaking 92 overall in FIFA Career Mode. The Italian superstar makes big and small saves look easy.
Donnarumma has 90 Diving, which means he can easily stretch to either side of the net. Paired with an impressive 85 Positioning, you may count on him to make routine saves on top of more threatening ones. His reflexes are among the highest at 89.
5Alisson Becker, Liverpool F.C.
The Brazilian national team and Liverpool F.C. are each in good hands with Alisson on the team sheet. You can be, too, if you select either squad in Kick-Off mode or make a bid for him in Ultimate Team. He’s a well-rounded goalkeeper.
Alisson has 87 Reactions, which only benefits his save potential. He can also quickly get open for passes — essential for anyone looking to use their keeper during build-up play. His 85 Handling lessens the chance for rebounds and the need for him to make multiple saves.
4Ederson, Manchester City
Brazil’s national team is stacked with talented players, including goalkeepers. Ederson is continuously battling for the starting spot at the international level but is the go-to choice for Manchester City’s starting eleven and is a unique option for building an English Premier League and Ligue 1hybrid Ultimate Team.
Ederson’s 89 overall rating comes from a plethora of high-level stats, including 93 Goalkeeper Kicking — he can punt or kick the ball to the other half of the field without any issues, making for fast build-up play. In net, he has 88 Positioning and will almost always be in the right spot to make a save.
3Jan Oblak, Atletico Madrid
Despite not having much of a chance to shine at the international level, Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak is a star in the La Liga show. He ranks at an 89 overall, potentially reaching a 91 in Career Mode. Oblak is a stellar keeper with well-rounded stats that you may use to shut down unassuming Strikers.

Oblak has showstopping attributes in Handling — he won’t let up rebounds and is always in a position to make a save. His 87 Reactions bolster his already impressive stats. It’s almost as if he can see into the future and figure out where the ball is going before it’s even struck.
2Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich
Manuel Neuer is probably the most widely recognized goalkeeper name in soccer. He has seen mountains of success in club play for Bayern Munich and international play for Germany. He’s been with the German side since 2011 and has consistently ranked as one of the highest-rated players in all of FIFA.
You don’t get to be noted as one of the best without the stats to back it up, and Neuer does exactly that. He’s a 90-rated Goalie with sky-high stats in Handling, Positioning, and Kicking. He’s a staple choice in most Bundesliga Ultimate Teams.
1Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid
Real Madrid and Belgium international Thibaut Courtois is the epitome of goalkeeping. He’s the best in the game because of his high base stats and ability to get +1 overall in career mode. With the highest Reflexes of any player in his position, you don’t even need much else.
Courtois’ career at Real Madrid started in 2018 after transferring from Chelsea F.C., where he spent a few seasons after being loaned to Atletico Madrid. Since then, he has truly made a name for himself as a top Goalkeeper and is one of the best to ever do it.
