One of the most important quests inThe Witcher 3is Child of the Elder Blood, where Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri conduct a surprise inspection on Avallac’h. The elf has spent the game with his cards close to his chest, demanding things from everyone around him while offering few insights into his motivations.

The quest has the trio take matters into their own hands. Frustrated with his lack of transparency, Ciri leads Geralt and Yennefer to his hideout where they resolve to find what he’s hiding. While the quest is a simple investigation, you will make an incredibly important decision at the end.

Reaching Avallac’h’s Hideout

Afterdiscovering the Sunstone’s location,Geralt will return to Yennefer and Ciri. During this conversation,Ciri will tell the pair about Avallach’s hideout, and ask to investigate.

While you do not have tocomplete this quest immediately,you will have to eventually.Battle Preparations will not end until this investigation is done.

Ciri and Yennefer will teleport to the hideout, leaving you toFast Travel to The Pali Gap Coast,west of Skellige. Once you arrive,talk to the womento start a short cutscene where they discuss how they will break in.

They begin after the cutscene, with Yenneferwaking up a Golemwith her spell. You will have tohelp Ciri fight itto continue. With her help, it should be an easy battle.

Investigating The Lab

With the way clear, the trio canenter the laboratory.You canuse your Witcher Sensesto explore the area,interacting with the objects outlined in red.

Once you are ready,head to the next room,where a cutscene will play. They discover an extensive mural that functions as a representation of Lara Dorren’s genealogy. Ciri isher most recent descendent,making it an uncomfortable development.

Finally,look for a closed doorin the final room. Interact with it to start a cutscene where they findAvallac’h’s elven lover.The woman is all to eager to insult and belittle Ciri before storming off. With Ciri’s trust in Avallac’h strained, you will have tomake a crucial decision.

Immediately after the female elf leaves, you will have tomake a timed choice,betweentelling Ciri to calm downorencouraging her to vent her frustrations.
