Updated on Jul 09, 2025, by Nishant Thakkar:We have added two more characters that can give you an advantage when playing in Icebox. You still need to know how to use them and have a good team, obviously, but you’ll have an extra hand with them.

Ruse

Not Dead Yet

Clove hasn’t seen much playtime in pro play, but it can be perfect for matchmaking. Unlike any other Controller, you can use smokes (Ruse) abilities even after death to help your team cross the finish line. Although there are only two smokes, these should be sufficient to block some choke points like Snowman, way to Oranges, Rafters, or even Screen.

Pick-Me-Up will give you extra health and speed to get multi-frag rounds in the game. If that is not it, you can self-revive yourself with the Not Dead Yet ultimate, but there is a caveat. You need to assist or eliminate an opponent in the set duration to remain resurrected.

Devour Dismiss

Empress

Reyna has been one of the best Duelists in Valorant, and if you are a cracked aim, she might be ideal for you on the Icebox map. Her ability to heal or dismiss after getting a kill can be crucial in situations and perfectly fits the aggressive gameplay style you need on this map.

The agent’s Leer ability will be particularly beneficial during executes, and you may use it on A main or around B garage toblind the opponentsand clear out these crucial angles. To top it all off, her ultimate can help you decimate foes with an increased fire rate, automatic healing, and the ability to dismiss quickly.

High Tide

Reckoning

Even though Harbor hasn’t seen much use across all the maps in the game since his release, he will be an excellent pick for you while playing Icebox. This agent’s abilities complement the map well, and you may employ his wall while rushing onto the A or B site to secure yourself a good Spike plant.

His Cove ability (smoke) can also help you block off angles such as Rafters, allowing you to take better control. His ultimate isn’t particularly strong, but it would be effective if you attempted to retake either site during the defense.

Omen’s strong kit and the capacity for aggressive plays are why you should consider using him. His Shrouded Step ability allows you to teleport over short distances, and you can use it to make clever plays by going over Tube in Mid or Yellow on B site.

Furthermore, you may use the agent’s two Dark Cover smokes to cover angles, whereas Paranoia can be used to blind opponents in narrow angles such as Tubes. Finally, the From the Shadows ultimate can teleport you anywhere on the map and can be clutch in a 1 vs. 1 or 2 vs. 1 for rotation.

If you can master Raze’s aerial movements, she is another good Duelist, and you will enjoy playing on Icebox. She is very good at getting entries on both the sites and her abilities can cause severe damage.

For instance, Raze’s Paint Shell can be lethal, and you can throw them at tight corners like Generator on A site to force enemies out and even inflict some damage. Meanwhile, her Boom Bot can aid while entering and could create distractions.

Dizzy

Gekko is perhaps one of the fanciest initiations in Valorant. His abilities are a good fit for a map like Icebox with lots of covers around the site. You can use his Mosh Pit to flush out the opponent in the open from tough clears, like the opening of Rafters or the area behind the box on A site, drawing them to an unfavourable fight.

The Wingman and Dizzy make it a complete package. You can use the former not only to stun the opponent but also to plant the spike, which can be game-changing in clutch situations. Simultaneously, Dizzy is a highly successful strategy for both reconnaissance of the site and blinding your opponents on your entry. To top it off, the ultimate will detain the opponents, making it perfect for both retakes and executes.

07

Healing Orb

Thrash

On Icebox, Sage’s presence as a Sentinel is crucial and adds significant value to the team’s composition. you’re able to use her Slow Orbs, and Wall can stop the opposition from taking control of Mid or either of the two sites immediately. The Wall is further crucial because it can enable you to have a safe plant near Generator on the A site and Default on the B site, which can be very helpful.

Her ability to heal teammates is also instrumental, so you must play in support of your teammates. Speaking about her ultimate, you can use it to resurrect a teammate, and the previously dead teammate can support you to ensure a round win.

10

Tailwind

Blade Storm

Jett’s abilities make her the best choice for the Duelist role on Icebox, and her kit is perfect. With her Updraft ability, you may launch yourself in the air and play angles that the opponents wouldn’t expect.

Meanwhile, her Tailwind ability enables you to dash a short distance in any direction, allowing you to escape from fights. You can use the Cloudburst to create a smoke screen and obscure enemy vision, letting you reposition.

Her ultimate is also fantastic; you may get some kills with it. It is also excellent to use during Eco rounds.

04

Turret

Lockdown

Killjoy possesses an outstanding kit that can enable you to defend sites. The abilities can be vital in controlling the areas of the map, like Tubes or Mid, and they can deny opponents access to critical locations.

you may use her Alarmbot to cover flanks or chokepoints, preventing enemies from sneaking in undetected. When enemies are trying to push through, you can use her Nanoswarm to damage them.

At the same time, her Turret can be placed to automatically target and damage any enemies in its line of sight, and her ultimate ability can be great for retaking or committing to a site.
