Breath of the Wildquickly became famous for allowing players to get creative, but after only three days, it’s evident the previous game doesn’t hold a candle toTears of the Kingdom. Some of the contraptions players have shared over the weekend have been remarkable, but the one that might well be the most helpful, and is easily one of the simplest to build, is the humble bridge.

Okay, calling some of these bridges humble isn’t doing them justice. Tears of the Kingdom’s new ultrahand ability lets players fuse just about anything they can find together, and that ability has already beenused to make giant robots with flamethrower weiners. More mature players have discovered there doesn’t appear to be a limit to the number of items you’re able to fuse together, resulting in incredibly long bridges players have been using to get just about everywhere.

Polygonhas collated a number of different successful bridge-building attempts from across Tears of the Kingdom’s first weekend with many of you approaching the technique in different ways. Logs appear to be the material of choice for most, which makes sense, but just like everything else you can cobble together in Hyrule right now, anything is fair game when it comes to bridge building.

That is demonstrated perfectly via the video below in which one player tacks a couple of mine carts to the end of what they have dubbed “The Infinity Bridge”. A phrase that implies it’s only a matter of time until someone tries to build a bridge that spans the entire map. Those who don’t have the time to do that have just been carrying their massive bridges around with them. That’s because if you leave the area in which the bridge has been built, it’ll be gone when you return.

Some of you have even found out how to squeeze their big old bridges into shrines, resulting in them being solved in ways the developers definitely didn’t intend. In fact, I’m not convincedNintendoforesaw players making bridges at all as some of them are already so long that they appear to be breaking the laws of Hylian physics. Hard to imagine Zelda’s producer has seen anything new from other players afterplaying Tears of the Kingdom 20 times before launch, but I can’t imagine he took a shortcut over a homemade bridge during any of those playthroughs.
