Last night, reports surfaced thatSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguehas beendelayed to Q4 2023, but according to reporter Jeff Grubb, it has been pushed back even further to 2024.
“I’ve heard it’s not even coming this year, I’m hearing 2024,” Grubb said. “I heard they’re like, ‘This is adelayass delay’. This is a bigger delay than is even being put out there - we’ll see. That stuff is hard to nail down for sure. I’ll say that this source has always been a very good one.”

Warner Bros. and Rocksteady have not confirmed the delay yet, but it is currently slated to launch on May 26, nestled betweenResident Evil 4 RemakeandFinal Fantasy 16andDiablo 4.This is an awkward spot to launch in, as it will be flooded with competition, butthe gameplay reveal also drew backlashas many were unhappy with the games-as-a-service model and looter shooter approach that means even Boomerang, known for throwing boomerangs, has a gun.
“I think they know that what they have feels kind of rotten to most people,” Grubb said. “…or people are like, ‘No, that looks like a fun game.’ It’s just that then you see the big screens of Captain Boomerang with all the numbers and the loot and the big gun and the stupid look on his face - if that is a significant portion of the game, maybe there’s a way to rebalance and retool it.”
Right now, it’s unclear what a delay will mean for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but the fundamental issues would take much longer than even a year to iron out, as a lot of the backlash was aboutthe battle pass, everyone having a gun, and the floatier combat that moves away fromthe Arkham seriestoward being more of a third-person shooter. Until Rocksteady or Warner Bros. officially announce anything, we’ll simply have to wait and see.
