Resident Evil 4 Remakemight continue to be celebrated almost a month after its launch, and for good reason, but make no bones about it, some of its bosses are very hard to beat. Don’t worry, it’s okay to admit it. Verdugo is one of the toughest, and if you’re one of the many who felt like they were trapped in a fight with the terrifying monster forever, a glitch has shown why that is, demonstrating just how many direct hits it takes before you can leave him behind.

Lucienwmoonshared their battle with Verdugo on theResident Evil 4subreddit. A welcome glitch holds the boss in place, seemingly getting stunlocked so Leon can load him with bullets. Not an issue for the player as they’ve already managed to unlock the Chicago Sweeper with infinite ammo. Good job too as the endless stream of bullets goes on, and on, and on, and on.

I timed how long Leon is firing into Verdugo’s back without taking his finger off the trigger, and it’s 53 seconds. I’ve not counted how many bullets now call this particular Verdugo’s body home but hey, if you need to know that before you encounter the boss fight yourself, you’re welcome to try and count them. It should also be noted that while Lucienwmoon doesn’t clarify what difficulty they’re playing on, it’s probably safe to assume it’s professional since they will have needed to finish the game on the highest difficulty at least once to get infinite ammo for that particular weapon.

Some of the players in the replies are understandably pretty jealous of the glitch, especially since it happened to someone who doesn’t seem to need it. For those who don’t have a glitch to rely on, others have been sharing how they handled Verdugo. One player notes that even shooting the boss directly in the face with a Magnum didn’t do them much good, but claims one round from the rocket launcher was enough to let them progress.

I would personally have to see that to believe it as it feels like Verdugo would be able to stomach more than one rocket before suffering defeat. Maybe if you aren’t lucky enough to experience this glitch, you can try toforce the one that gives you as many rockets as you have pistol bullets. Another player stumbled upon a bug that mixes up your ammo, switching how many pistol rounds you have for RPG rockets. They then proceed to fire off ten of them in quick succession which would almost definitely be enough to stop Verdugo charging at you, regardless of the difficulty.
