New footage of theResident Evil 4remake reveals thatCapcomhas removed Leon’s iconic “No thanks, bro” line when first encountering Ramon Salazar in his castle.
Resident Evil 4 is renowned for plenty of reasons, but chief among them is how it manages to blend humour and horror into a weird but wonderful camp fest. One example of this happens around halfway through the game whenLeon and Ashley enter Salazar Castle. Here, they come across Ramon Salazar, who says “I’ve been expecting you, my brethrens”, only to be met with a hearty “No thanks,bro” back from Leon.

It’s easily one of the game’s campiest scenes, which has caused fans to wonder if it’ll remain in the remake.Sadly, a recent comparison video from IGN confirms that the line has been cutand that the scene now plays out a little more straight-laced. Instead of making a quick-witted but cringe pun, Leon now says “fat chance” to giving Ashley over and the scene simply ends.
It’s a shame to see such a perfectly cringe moment removed from the remake, but it doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering the darker tone that Capcom is aiming for here. It’s also not the only cringe bit of dialogue that’s been removed from the game,as previous footage from Game Informer confirmed that the infamous “ballistics” line from Luis has now been cutin favour of calling her señorita. That line was always going to be cut though, let’s be real.
Although it seems like Capcom has taken out quite a few of the more comedic moments from Resident Evil 4, notallof them are gone. Our very own Features Lead Jade Kingconfirmed that a section of the game that she previewed last year still had Leon’s iconic bingo line. Luis Sera is also clearly still a comedic relief character and even seems to have more of a presence in the remake.
