When a game gets the remake label instead of remaster, those who played the original will have their expectations raised. Needless to say,Capcomunderstood the assignment when it went about remakingResident Evil 4. A month later, players are still discovering little details about the remake that weren’t there in the original, including a regenerator you might have thought was dead when you turn the power on in the lab.

Dr_Nasteehas highlighted the moment, posting screenshots demonstrating the difference between the dormant regenerator when the power is off and when it’s on. It was actually YouTube channelDan Allen Gamingthat appears to have been the first to pick up on the creepy detail.Posting a clipexhibiting the difference in the generator’s eyes just a week after the Resident Evil 4 remake launched, making it even more impressive.

Dr_Nastee gives credit to Allen in the Reddit post below, pointing out it was a detail they discovered while watching the aforementioned video. Considering Leon isn’t even in the room with the regenerator for the moment in question, it’s amazing the detail has been discovered at all. you’re able to see its eyes are clearly shut before Leon flicks the switch. When you come back afterwards, the regenerator is awake and looking right at you, and yeah, it’s horrible.

Everything has been rebuilt from the ground up for the remake, but for some reason, Capcom decided to give its regenerators a little extra something in the new version. While still recognizable from the original, the enemy’s appearance is very different. Most notably their backsideswhich many of you picked up on far quicker than it took someone to notice that one of them opens its eyes and looks at you. Yes, regenerators are thicc, and that has clearly stirred up some very confusing feelings for some of you.

Good news for those of you who want to admire the regenerators without an imminent threat of death attached, there’s a mod that turns Ashley into one. I don’t know how her dad will feel about that when you get her home, but that’s your problem. If your goal is to make Resident Evil 4 less disturbing rather than more so, there’s alsoa mod that turns its spiders into GameCubes. Do we not have the technology to do that in real life yet? Science clearly hasn’t gone too far. There’s alsoa mod that removes the yellow painthinting at items that contain loot and where to go next. Hey, if you want to waste time smashing everything to no avail, be my guest.
