The ultimate goal of the Legendary Gauntlet is to go on a long winning streak using each of your Sync Pairs only once. This challenge will push your roster to its limits as you are forced to construct a variety of teams that can overcome each legendary Pokemon’s gimmick and exploit their weaknesses.
What Are The Legendary’s Weaknesses
Your first step to tackling any Legendary Gauntlet is toknow your enemies, specifically what type they are weak to and what gimmicks they employ.
Bug / Special to 50%, then Bug / Physical

Ghost
Ghost / Special
For example, Latias is initially weak to Dragon-type attacks before switching to a Fairy weakness for its second and third HP bars.
In addition, you must lower Latias' stats to continue dealing damage; once Latias stacks enough buffs, you will deal zero damage. This is Latias’key gimmick, which is an essential aspect of every Legendary Gauntlet boss.

A powerful Tech Sync Pairlike Iris and Hydreigon is a great choice for lowering the Attack and Special Attack of your foes.
Key Gimmick
Azelf
Alternate Special and Physical attacks. Special until the HP bar reaches 50%, then use Physical.
Inflict any status condition, like Burn or Paralysis.

Cresselia
Remove Field Effects set by Cresselia. Cresselia is unaffected by Ground-type moves.
Entei
Land critical hits. Use Flinch or Sleep to stop Entei’s moves.
Latias
Defeat Latias with its allies, Alakazam and Flygon. Latias takes less damage the more its stats are raised.
Latios
Defeat Latios with its allies, Salamence and Dragonite. Latios will use area-of-effect (AoE) moves.
Weather effects are permanent. Use Flinch to stop Moltres' moves.
Regirock
Critical hits will lower Regirock’s Defense. Regirock’s stats cannot be lowered in any other way.
Tapu Bulu
After using its Sync Move, Tapu Bulu sets Grassy Terrain. Inflict any status conditions.
Terrakion
Terrakion will raise its stats to power up its moves; lower its stats. Setting a field effect will increase damage against Terrakion.
Paralyze and lower its Speed.
Uxie
Inflict a status condition for HP Bar 1 (Burn, Poison, Paralyze). Inflict a status change for HP Bar 2 (Flinch, Confuse, Trap). Inflict a status change and status condition for HP Bar 3.
It’s essential that youkeep track of each foe’s gimmick, or you risk dealing massively reduced damage and failing the battle if you are unsure of what strategy you should be using to win.
Once you’ve pinpointed the method needed to dispatch each Legendary Gauntlet member, you’ll need to sort through your roster and prepare some options to help you against these difficult opponents.
How To Plan Your Teams
Now that you understand how to identify a legendary’s weakness and exploit its gimmick, you must sort out which Sync Pairs on your roster can achieve victory.
You can easilysort through your Sync Pairs using the filters. For instance, selecting the box for any Pokemon that lowers an enemy’s stats will present you with some fantastic counters to Latias.
The best way to construct a team is to firstpick a damage dealer that matches the type of a Gauntlet Pokemon’s weakness, if possible.
Once you’ve selected your damage dealer, you can begin to build around it, ideally with one Tech Sync Pair and one Support Sync Pair to ensure you have versatile options left for your later teams.
YourTech Sync Pair should be able to nullify the opponent’s Gauntlet gimmick, while theSupport should help accelerate your damage dealer’s stat buffing while also tanking damage for your team.
The best Support Sync Pairsare able to provide assistance in multiple forms, such as tanking damage, healing your team, setting weather, buffing your stats, debuffing your opponent’s stats, or inflicting status conditions.
Some Support Pairs consolidate the roles of both a Tech and Support Sync Pair into oneand are incredibly valuable options for Legendary Gauntlet.
Here are some ideas to start with if you are stuck at square one.
Lillie (Anniversary) & Lunala
Allister & Gengar
Try toplan out a group of three or four teams for each bossbefore you get started to ensure that you have enough teams with unique choices, allowing you to continue your streak.
If a team struggles or needs tweaking, it’s helpful to see what other options you already planned to use on another team.

How To Execute And Adjust Your Strategy
Once you select a few teams, the only way to see their potential is to give them a test run.
Start off the battle at the slowest speed and begin to study your foe during the battle.
You will notice thatcertain Pokemon have set move orders and always use certain moves at the start of their next HP bar. Use this information to your advantage to prepare for or prevent devastating moves from harming your team.
Flinching or putting the Legendary Pokemon to sleepas their HP bar changes is an excellent way to prevent guaranteed attacks from connecting.
Unfortunately, sometimes the move order is randomly executed (RNG), so you may need a little bit of luck to get the right sequence of events that lead to your victory.
If you lose a battle, do not continue; restartit instead until you win.
Your goal should be to complete every battle using only one team. Using a second team both wastes the available Sync Pairs you have to use and is usually more difficult.
A new team will need to completely buff itself and use Sync Moves to receive that buff, putting you at a distinct disadvantage against a fully-buffed foe.
If you notice that your attacks are missing or something isn’t quite working well, don’t be afraid to quit the battle and reassess your team.
Identify what’s missing before you quit and fill in the gap with a new Pokemon that can fulfill the needed role.
For example, if you are having trouble surviving Moltres' Heat Wave and guaranteed Burn, then a Sync Pair like Misty and Psyduck can help your team via their Full Heal to ease the Burn and Potion to regain HP from the initial hit.
Legendary Gauntlets are all about matchups, so take your time team building, testing, and tinkering with your ideas as you perfect your strategy on the road to becoming the very best.
