PS VR2 will be one of the shining stars at tonight’sPlayStationState of Play. It’sSony’slatest weapon in an arsenal designed to keep it winning the battles across the console war, but it’s not without its drawbacks. At a $550 price point, it’s more expensive than a PS5 itself that’s needed to run it, and its big killer app -Horizon Call of the Mountain- has receivedlukewarm reviews. My own take is that it’s decent, but not worth buying a whole new console for....

Nintendoowns a certain reputation. The Japanese veteran is known for its charming, family friendly, whimsical titles and cutesy cast of characters. It’s a veneer that has remained with the company. So it’s somewhat jarring to see various Nintendo games seemingly the target of review bombing. The games affected include Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, and Fire Emblem Engage. The pattern was first picked up by a user on the NintendoSwitch subreddit with a thread that drew attention to how Advance Wars Reboot Camp was getting review bombed on Metacritic....

Red Dead Redemption left large shoes to fill, and its sequel managed to step into them and burst out the seams.Red Dead Redemption 2is filled to the brim with wildlife and local riff-raff to waste the hours away with. Still, it’s unlikely you’ve managed to see everything this game has to offer. Part of that is because the game is simply massive, but there’s also a great deal of missable content if you rush through the game....

Resident Evil 4fans are the best. The remake has hardly been out for a week and the level of sheer imagination, humour, and general wholesomeness present across the community is something I wish video games were capable of more often. We all share a collective love for Leon Kennedy and his himbo behaviour, while fun is poked at how ridiculous things like pirate-themed firing ranges and cute collectible keyrings are in a game otherwise meant to be quite serious....

When the Resident Evil 4 remake was announced, Capcom confirmed that it’d receive the usual deluxe edition variant, which would come with a few unique items,controversially including a treasure map that gives access to treasure that otherwise wouldn’t be there. Less controversial are the costumes that come with the deluxe edition, which feature a range of unique looks for Leon and Ashley based on several different themes....

Today, the UK’s CMA publishedSony’s observations onMicrosoft’s proposed remedies for its merger with Activision. Microsoft has already secured a10-year dealwith both Nintendo and Nvidia to keep publishingCall of Dutyon their platforms, butSony adamantly refused to accept a similar deal. Now we know why. In theCMA’s report, Sony said that it refused Microsoft’s 10-year deal because it just didn’t go far enough to ensure Call of Duty’s quality on PlayStation. Specifically, Sony implied that Microsoft could make a sub-par version of Call of Duty for PlayStation by using fewer or worse developers to build it....

Twitchhas a tendency to ban its streamers without offering up much of an explanation. 16 months later, we still don’t know whySoulja Boy was banned twice in a single day. The first, very short ban was followed by a far longer one that has lasted for well over a year. Soulja Boy took to Twitter this week to announce the ban has finally been lifted, the air of mystery surrounding why exactly he was slapped with it in the first place remaining intact....
