EX Skills are the spiffy special stuff that come two-per-job for all eight ofOctopath Traveler 2’s base classes. By ‘base classes’, we mean the ones that your travelers come pre-packaged with - Ochette the Hunter, Temenos the Cleric, and so forth.

Every class has access to one EX Skill that is learned automatically at the end of a character’s story, plus another that must be found via aShrinefor that specific job. This guide’s attention tilts toward the latter, since acquiring the former is simply a matter of playing the game naturally.
Altar of the Thunderblade

Search south in theEastern Sai Sands, andyou’ll find this shrine relatively easily.
Altar of the Scholarking

Imbues the user’s buffs upon another ally for multiple turns.
Head west fromWinterbloom. When you locate the massive stone bridge in this zone,check underneath itfor access.
Altar of the Flamebringer

Restores HP to one ally, but the restoration can eclipse their max HP.
FromEast Flamechurch Pass, go toBorderfall, then headnorthuntil you find a church. Trickily enough, the altar isbehind a bookshelfhere inside the church.

Pay one enemy to let the user act before them.
InSouthern Crackridge Wilds, veereastall the way into the tunnels/mines and then some. Eventually, you’ll reach this shrine.

Three-turn buff to Physical Attack, Speed, and Evasion.
InWestern Tropu’hapu Traverse, search for thelarge cliffat the bottom of the screen’s visible range, south of a beach. Walk underneath the cliff.

Axe damage to a single foe with power increasing depending on the number of buffs removed from them.
LeaveConning Creek, following the pathnorthuntil you find a temple to the east.
Altar of the Lady of Grace

Wind-based damage to all foes and your team acts first on the following turn.
Northern Wellgrove Trail. It’s hiddenbehind a large treeon the path northward.
Altar of the Prince of Thieves

Dark-based damage to all foes and the user dodges the next physical attack.
Southern Clockbank Road.After you have crossed thebridgeand located thecanoe dock, take the canoe out and veer to the east close to thewaterfalls, then go due south. It’s hidden in the same manner as the Altar of the Huntress.
