This may come as a surprise, but the creators of famous fighting game franchises don’t exclusively play their own games. Some, likeTekkengame director Katsuhiro Harada andMortal Kombatcreator Ed Boone play both franchises enough to even have their own favorites.A few days ago, Harada answered a fan on Twitter who asked which Mortal Kombat character was his favorite. “Raiden of course,“Harada wrote back, offering some additional wisdom along with his personal pick.Related:What Have We Learned From Tekken 8’s Nina Williams Reveal?“On the other hand, are there any MK fans who don’t like Raiden? If someone like that exists, it’s like saying, ‘I love hamburgers, but I hate meat and veggies, so I only eat buns.'”

Fast-forward to today when another Twitter user quoted Harada and asked Ed Book who his favorite Tekken character was.His answer: “Hwoarang of course!” Boon followed his statement with the hashtag #DontAskMeForShit, which has been Harada’s calling card ever since hewore a shirt with those exact words on the front.

Hwoarang has been in every Tekken game since 3 but still hasn’t shown up in a gameplay trailer for Tekken 8. The South Korean native is a Taekwondo master, a former street hustler for underground fighting rings, and a former service member of the South Korean military. While not exactly a meta pic in Tekken 7, Hwoarang has quite a few sweeping kicks and his Flamingo stance can really trip up opponents thanks to its odd timing. Hwoarang also has an ongoing rivalry with Jin, who is confirmed for Tekken 8.

Tekken 8 is expected to release sometime next year, whileMortal Kombat 12 still hasn’t been officially announced.Fans think that we might get one soonas Mortal Kombat’s social accounts have recently released a recap of the franchise’s story up to Mortal Kombat 11. Ed Boon teased the reveal at the end of Marchby tweeting the word “tick” 12 times.

Or we might be getting another Shaolin Monks.Boon recently held a Twitter pollasking fans whether they wanted to see a remaster of the original beat-‘em-up game or if they wanted a full-on sequel. Remaster edged out sequel with 55 percent of the vote.

In other Tekken 8 news, Harada told fans to “shup up & sit the hell down” after someone asked if Tekken 8 will have rollback netcode. The standard for modern fighting games, rollback netcode offers far smoother gameplay even when your network connection isn’t the greatest. Harada told that fan it’s “already installed”, and that the Tekken team doesn’t often make announcements of this nature because “people like you will only say things like, ‘waaa! That’s normal in this day and age.'”
