Pick Your Team

The first step in March To October is to select a team. Each of the 30 teams in the major leagues is split intofour different categories:Favorites, Contenders, Underdogs, and Longshots.

These teams have a projected win total, but you’ll need toexceed expectationsif you hope to take a team in one of the lower groups to the playoffs.

Like most March To October games, you’ll start the gamein the middle-to-late innings. You’ll havefull control of the teamand will have to assess the situation quickly.

After each win, you’ll build Momentumthat will be used by the team in simulated games.

The more Momentum you have stored,the higher your chance of winning simulated games. Alternatively, if youlose Key Moments, there’s a higher chance the teamwill lose simulated games.

Trade Management March To October MLB The Show 23

Trade Management

After a few games into the season, theTrade Managementsection of March To October will become available. You’ll see a map of the baseball diamond that shows how each of your team’s positions rank among the rest of the league.

During the season,you’ll have the option of calling up minor league playersthat are performing well to bolster your major league roster.

you may use this information toselect up to three positions you’d like to improve via trade.

You can alsotarget specific players, list players you want to shop for, and label players as Untouchables on your roster.

Scouting Future Talent

Throughout the season, you’ll be able toadjust your team’s scouting department for future talent.

The Hire Scout section will let youchoose a scout based on your roster’s needsand replace someone currently on your staff. However, the scout you hiremust be within the budget, so hopefully, you aren’t in charge of a cheap team.

If you aren’t interested in scouting,you’re able to let the game automatically complete this processfor you. However, once you change the setting to Auto,you won’t be able to manually scout players until the next season.

In theScouting Big Board, you may learn about potential prospectsin the upcomingAmateur Draft. There are14 weeksduring the scouting process, and assignments arecompleted every week.

It’s imperative to perform these scouting duties to be successful in the draft. You will be able to see how each of your positionscompares to the rest of the league and dictate how you want to prioritize scouting.
