Arguably the heaviest of the Full Moon Battles you’ve had so far inPersona 3 Portable, fans know the day of the battle with Arcanas Fortune and Strength for a number of reasons – one of them being the emotional story that progresses immediately afterward that changes the tone of the story.

But to get to that, you’ll need to finish this famously difficult battle first, and the fight will be anythingbutstraightforward, left to the whims of the Wheel of Fortune. For some help getting through this finicky battle in P3P, we’ve got you covered in our guide below.
We won’t go into the story elements tied to this Full Moon Operation, but our guide may still contain some spoilers for Persona 3 Portable, so reader discretion is still advised.

Fortune And Strength Battle Setup
Your battle against Fortune and Strength in P3P takes place on10/4.
Recommended Party
With Strength coming at your team with physical moves and Fortune adding wind magic to the equation, we went withYukari, Akihiko, and Mitsurufor this battle.
Be aware that youwon’t be able to include Ken or Shinjiroon your team for this battle due to story limitations.

Yukariis not only a greathealer, but she’s also got access to the skills needed todispel ailments cast on the team. Strength will attempt to charm and distress the team, but with Yukari’sCharmdiandMe Patraspells, she’ll be able to cancel status effects before they can do much damage to your team.
She’s also gotRe Patra, which canrevive a fallen teammate to half-health.

Akihikois good in this fight for his goodstrength skillbehind his physical attacks, as well as his menu ofdebuff movesto use on the shadows to lower their stats in kind.
He also learns the passive skillElec BoostatLv. 37, whichboosts the damage done by electric magicby 25 percent.

Mitsururounded out our team with additionalhealing magic. Similar to Akihiko, she learnsIce BoostatLv. 45for the same effect, just to her ice magic instead.
Recommended Level And Personas
With Fortune and Strength both atLv. 46,we’d recommend beingat least Lv. 45before attempting the fight. These shadows have high strength and magic, and willdefinitelydeal damage if you’re much lower than this.
As for your Persona, you’ll want someone who knowsEvil TouchandGhastly Wail, as the two Full Moon shadows are bothsusceptible to fear.

We broughtMotinto the battle to satisfy that, who can be fusedbeginning at Lv. 45.However, Mot doesn’t learn Ghastly Wail untilLv. 48, so be sure to train it up a bit before the fight, lest the exploit with Ghastly Wail be unavailable.
Fortune And Strength Stats And Affinities
While the two shadows have different attacks, their affinities are the same in thatboth nullify light and dark, but haveno other affinities.
The good news about that is that any attack will deal a normal amount of damage, with one less thing for you to worry about.

Fortune And Strength Battle Strategy
This battle is a bit different from the rest of the two-target fights you’ve had, in thatyou can only attack one target at once. The fight starts against Strength, and once she goes down, Fortune will be available for attack.
Youcan’t attack Fortune directly while Strength is still alive, and multi-target hits will hit only Strength. You need to fight them one at a time.
While Strength is still in play, she knows bothpowerful physical attacks, and how to rope your party in withcharm.
If possible, dispel charm immediately, as charmed teammates may skip their attack or evenheal the bossinstead of hurting them. In a fight that’s already long, don’t give someone a chance to help the other side.
By keepinga Persona on you that nullifies charm, your MC will be safe from the affliction and can act as the healer if needed.
The Wheel Of Fortune
You’ll notice early in the fight thatArcana Fortune attacks with a giant Wheel of Fortuneinstead of coming at you directly.
After each round in battle, Fortune will summon its wheel onto the field, after which point, you’ll need tospin the wheel to see where it lands, and then simply watch asthat affect is applied.
There area few variants of the wheelthat you may see. Fortune will attempt to do one of the following:
Spinning the Wheel of Fortune, as you may suspect, willapply the effect you land onto whichever team received it, but you’ll need to knowwhich color impacts which team.
Any wheel segment that’s coloredredwill be of help to theenemy team, applying the effects of the wheel onto SEES. Conversely, when the spinner lands on abluesection instead, it’s of help toyour teaminstead.
Therefore, you’ll want toalways be aiming for blue, even as the blue sections grow smaller and fewer and further between as the battle ticks on.
The spinner will typically stop onwhichever wheel segment is opposite the spinner when you hit the button to stop it.
Keep your eye on the top of the wheelinstead of the spinner, and you’ll all but be able to choose which affect it lands on.
As the fight progresses, the pieces on the Wheel may change size, with Fortune offering youfar fewer and smaller wheel segmentswith which to hurt it once it’s in battle by itself.
Afflict The Enemy Shadows With Fear
A way to end the battle in as few as two moves, depending on how lucky you get with the Wheel, is tobring a Persona capable of casting Ghastly Wailinto this fight, as one of the options on the status ailment spinner is toafflict fear to the opposing party.
If your Persona knowsEvil Smile, like theMotwe suggested, they caninflict the fear themselves without waitingfor Fortune’s turn.
Granted, the fear will only impactwhichever shadow you’re directly fighting, with Fortune avoiding the ailment if it’s not yet in battle. That means you’ll have todo this twiceto kill both shadows with this method.
If you manage to land on the right spot andafflict fear onto the opposing team, you can then follow it up withGhastly Wailtoinstantly kill any enemy afflicted with fear.
Otherwise, the fight is a pretty straightforward slugfest, if you’re not exploiting the wheel. Finish up this fight and proceed into one of the more emotional moments in P3P.
