In Dragonflight, thePrimal Ritual Shellis that very trinket. When equipped, it will allow you toconduct a summoning ritual with turtles to give you a permanent buff, so long as you wear it. This buff is even powerful enough to make a difference in endgame content likeMythic+ dungeons. Here’s everything you need to know to get that buff for yourself.
Primal Ritual Shell Overview
Don’t be fooled by appearances; while the Primal Ritual Shell may not look like anything besides just another piece of gear, it can actually provideseveral different powerful buffs by its Use function.
By locating a ritual site and communing with four turtle spirits, you canchoose between one of four blessingsthat each grant a different effect. How beneficial each effect is will be dependent on theItem Levelof the trinket.

Although you may only haveone effect active at a time, you can swap out for a different buff any time you’d like by simplyusing the ritual againand accepting a different turtle spirit.
How To Get The Primal Ritual Shell
Luckily, you’re bound to see the Primal Ritual Shell at least once if you play the game with any regularity. You’re likely to get it throughdowning one of the many rare elites found among the Dragon Isles, so chase down those stars on your mini-map if you happen across one.
If farming rares doesn’t work, it’s also possible to get one throughattending one of the Community Events, such as theSiege on Dragonbane Keepor theCommunity Feastin Iskaara. Keep in mind, however, that the drop rates from these sources aren’t nearly as high.

How And Where To Use The Primal Ritual Shell
Once you’ve gotten your hands on the trinket, you’ll notice that the tooltip says toconduct the ritual to the south ofUktulut Pier in The Waking Shores, near the remains of a dragon. From the middle of the settlement,head directly southbetween the mountainsinstead of tracing your way down the coast.
Be aware that it is talking about thesettlement of Uktulut Pier, foundfar up northin the zone, and it isnotthe pier ofUktulut Outpost to the south. You’ll be able to distinguish it from thenamed flight pointon the map.

If you go far enough, eventually you’ll find the hidden ritual sitetucked between towering cliffs. You’ll know that you’ve reached the right spot by thepresence of a dragon skeleton, friendly turtles, and thebig glowing marker on your mini-map.
Stand on the small islandin the middle of the water andclick on your Primal Ritual Shellto use it. You should immediately notice the presence of the four turtle spirits,who will surround youwithin moments.

While they don’t have names to tell you which spirit is which, they’ll haveeffects and animationssurrounding them to get the point across. Stone will havebrown tremors at its feet, Sea will have ageyser on its back, Wind will beenveloped in a soft breeze, and Flame will havejets of orange fire.
In front of each turtle will be asmall colored circlethat corresponds to their element. It’s a simple matter ofwalking into one of these circlesto grab whichever buff you may want. Once one is bestowed upon you, the turtles will leave as abruptly as they appeared, thoughthey can be brought back by subsequent rituals.

Certain specializations perform betterwith different effects. While the choice is ultimately up to you, the general guidelines is that Sea should be used forhealers, Stone fortanks, and Wind or Flame forDPS classes.
