Wraiths are some of the most common monsters that you fight inThe Witcher 3.These monsters are created when people die but are unable to move on from the world, usually because of being furious at something. This is not uncommon in the game, thanks to how miserable it is in the Northern Realms.

You can find a haunting in Novigrad’s outskirts, where a widow has put up a contract against a monster that had killed several men. This job may not be the most exciting to complete, but it is probably close to what Geralt would consider routine work.

There arethree ways to start this contract.

Picking Up The Contract

This contract is found in the slums tothe south of Novigrad, near Glory Gate,at the notice board.

Visiting Drahim Castle

Geralt can inspect some clues the monster had left at the castle. It issouth of Glory Gate.

Inspecting The Bodies

If you manage to find the bodies before starting the contract, you caninspect the bodiesto start the quest.

While all three options will have the same outcome, the contract isarguably the most simple method of starting the quest.Pick up the contract and read it for Geralt to receive a quest marker leading him to the person who posted it. She is close by, standing by her house.

Finding Clues

The search area isby a campfire in the field.There arethree bodies for Geralt to investigatewith Witcher Senses. He will deduce that the monster is anoonwraithbased on the injuries left on their bodies.

Noting that he should be seeingfour bodies instead of three,Geralt will search for the final victim. Use Witcher Senses to finda set of footstepsleading away from the campsite and follow it. They will bring you toDrahim Castle.

Fighting The White Lady

Geralt will need touse an item important to the noonwraithin order to force her to confront him. Fortunately, the widowidentifies who the noonwraith used to bebased on his description.

The noonwraith was Luzi, a young woman who hadcommitted suicideinstead of following through with an arranged marriage. The widow gives Geraltthe dagger she took her life withto use as bait.Return to the campsiteto begin.

The White Lady will appear after a short cutscene and willfight Geralt.She will rely onfourkinds of attacks.

Physical Attacks

Like other wraiths, she has adeceptively fast set of melee attacksthat look like she is spinning. These attackshit hard and can quickly killif you are complacent. These hits may alsostun Geralt,making it harder to avoid the subsequent hits.

Dodging isthe most reliable wayto avoid this attack. Make sure tododge multiple timesto ensure that you evade her attacks.

Turning Immaterial

She willturn immaterialfor most of the fight. In this state, your attackswill not harm her.

There aretwo ways to deal with this ability.You canlure her into Yrdenorthrow Moon Dustat her. Both methods will force her into acorporeal statewhere she will take damage.

The White Lady willdisappear from the battlefieldandmake three weak copies of herself.These copies willhome in on Geraltanddrain his healthwhen he is too close. She canrestore large chunks of her health barif you are not careful.

The most reliable method for dealing with this attack is tofire your crossbow at the cloneswhile keeping your distance. They willdie after a single hit.You may also considerthrowing Dimeritium Bombsat her.

She willfade awayafter being defeated, letting you claim her trophy and asilver sword.
