Thankfully, the game comes in the Roguelike genre, which means that you still make some progress toward the end goal even when you lose a campaign. This happens through the boss level since it gives you a bunch of handy upgrades that can make your subsequent campaigns easier.
How To Level Up Quickly
There are two types of missions in Crime Boss: Rockay City. The main missions are where you send your soldiers to capture or defend a certain turf, while the other missions let you make a ton of money to fund these Turf wars. It can easily take up to $70,000 to take a Turf during the late game.
At the end of money-making missions, you’ll see a screen where Baker opens a van door filled with money. On this screen, you’ll see your current boss level on the top right side of your screen. There’ll also be a white bar below this level, which shows you the current progress to the next level.

You only get level experience from the missions where you use your Travis Baker. You don’t get any experience from successfully attacking or defending a Turf.
Moreover, special character missions or other robberies where Baker isn’t on the team won’t get you any boss level experience.

Apart from everything you learn during a campaign, the boss level is the only permanent mechanic in the game. Here are some of the best ways to get this level up quickly:
