Not only does it consistently supply spellcasters like Warlocks or Mages with cloth armor, it offers more inventory space in the form of bags that anyone can use, and it can often craft some of the most unique toys in the game.

Just as with every other profession in Dragonflight, Tailoring received a much-needed relevancy boost. Some of the best endgame cloth armor comes from certain Tailoring specializations, and healing bandages can now be crafted by Tailors. If you’re looking to pick up this particularly potent trade, then here’s everything you need to know about Tailoring in the latest expansion.
Overview
Tailoring is the keystone profession forrefining cloth and fabric, which can be looted from Humanoid enemies. Although weapons cannot be made with this trade,Tailoring offers one of the widest selections for armor, its large quantity of recipes second only to Leatherworking.
While Tailoring doesn’t have a gathering equivalent to fetch its materials, it’s still smart to pair it with a number of other professions.Enchantingis a great combination, as you’d be able todisenchant your surplus products, butJewelcrafting or Inscriptionwork as well.

In order to begin, you’ll want to venture toValdrakkenand seek out eitherThreadfinder Pax or Threadfinder Fulafong. Both can be found in the lower terrace ofThe Artisan’s Market, straight across from the cheese and wine vendors. Here, you’ll also find aTailor’s Work Table, which is a required workstation for several high-end recipes.
Once you’ve acquired Dragon Isles Tailoring from either trainer, it’s time to gear up withprofession equipment. It’s not strictly required, but if you equip one tool and two accessories, you cansave on material costswhile crafting recipes andboost the quality of your products.

Out of every recipe that’s available to you, the most important ones are theWoven Cloth and Reagent recipes. Some of these are required to craftendgame gear, while others can be added to any recipe tolower the difficulty or provide a chance at returning the materials.

FromPvP gear to entire sets that can carry someone into raids, Garments are the armor that Tailors can provide forPriests, Warlocks and Mages. While a baseline set can be bought from your trainer, the stronger recipes will need Renown grinds or certain specializations.

Finally, Tailors are renowned for their ability to craft bags, increasing a player’s inventory storage by up to34 slots per container.

How To Rank Up In Tailoring
to efficiently reach higher levels in Tailoring, you’ll want to focus oncrafting recipes that appear orange. Not only will these give you a guaranteed level so long as they remain orange, butthey’ll often grant multiple ranks, as noted by the number to its left.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to reach level 100 with your trainer’s recipes, asthey’ll stop selling them at level 50. From here, it’ll be up to you to seek out more powerful recipes, which can drop fromdungeon and raid bosses, world content, PvP, or unique specializations.

Tailoring Specializations
A brand-new feature that was introduced with Dragonflight, you can activateperks and talents in one of four specialization treesstarting at level 25. Every time you craft a new recipe for the first time, you’ll earn points ofDragon Isles Tailoring Knowledge, which is used to further your specialization.
Although you aren’t limited to just one tree, the Knowledge required to master all four specializations is only going to be available to you through long-term dedication, soit’s recommended that you learn them one at a time.
Tailoring Mastery
Tailoring Masteryis the first specialization, and it offers a general overview of the entire profession. If you don’t want to master a single area, pouring points into this treeincreases your crafting speed and improves the quality of every craft.
Textiles
Textilesdeals with different Reagents, allowing you to extract elements likeRousing Decayfrom the different types of Wildercloth that you collect and lets youcraft bolts with less material cost.
Draconic Needlework
The third specialization,Draconic Needlework, grants several types of unique recipes. The talents in this tree are necessary to craftAzureweave and Chronocloth Garments, which offerset bonusesfor having all the pieces equipped.
Garmentcrafting
Just as the name implies,Garmentcraftinggrants another set ofEpic recipes for cloth armor. While these might not offer bonuses like the other unique gear pieces,their Item Level rivals that of raiding and Conquest PvP gear.
