Spikeroog is one of the smallest inhabited islands in Skellige, a major location inThe Witcher 3.It is home to just two villages and a tiny population to match. Despite its relative insignificance, you may find a witcher contract on a notice board in Svorlag, the island’s larger settlement.

In this contract, Geralt will search for a missing man that had allegedly been abducted by a monster. His fiance was the only witness to the incident, the two were in an infamously poor relationship, casting doubt on the testimony. As always you will have to uncover the truth of the matter.
Starting Contract: Here Comes the Groom
you’re able to start this quest bypicking up the contract from Svorlag’s notice boardor byvisiting a caveon the south coast of the island.
TheBear Crossbowdiagramis in the cave to the south. You may have stumbled across this contract when searching for the diagram, which is located up a slopeon the right of the entrance.

If you hadpicked up the contract,you would have totalk to Kevan,the person who put the contract up. He is south of the notice board, standing by the beach. Like the other contracts, Geralt will press him for information. While Kevan had not witnessed the attack, he directs Geralt to his sister, Britt.
It was Britt who saw the monster make off with her betrothed, Nils. She isby a cliffnot far from the notice board. Though upset, she tells Geralt that the monstercould flyand haddragged Nils to the lighthouse on the south coast.

You will need to ride out to the lighthouse, looking for acave by the coast.
You will pass byOld Watchtower,a crumbling ruin inhabited by bandits. You can find the diagram forMastercrafted Wolven Trousersthere. It ison the wall by the Fast Travel point. Use a nearby tree to climb atop the wall to reach the chest.

Searching The Cave
You will beattacked by drownersas soon as you set foot in the cave. After you defeat the first one,activate your Witcher Sensesand interact with the long trail on the ground. Geralt recognizes the pattern assiren tracks.You will have todefeat a second pairbefore entering a larger chamber.
After dispatching yet another pack of drowners, you caninspect a large shrinein the center of the cave. It is an oldaltar to Melusine,a spirit of the sea, made by the locals.
Search the ground forfallen scalesaround the shrine and in the next chamber. Geralt notes thatthe scales are much larger than normal siren scales.Combined with the tracks, he concludes that Melusine is arecently awoken siren.It was so deadly that Skelligers had worshiped her as a demigod.
Follow the scales out tothe final chamberwith a larger pack of drowners and the entrance to Melusine’s lair.
This final chamber hasseveral explosive barrels.You can useIgni or bombs like Dancing Star and Dragon’s Dreamto detonate the barrels. Time this right tokill several drowners at once.
Facing Melusine
With the drowners defeated, you’re able to safely climb into Melusine’s lair. Look around fora dead bodyup the slope. Interact with it tostart a cutscenewhere Geralt figures that the body belongs to Nils before Melusine descends on him.
Melusine is adeadlier Ekhidnathat uses the same swooping attacks that its weaker brethren rely on alongsidea stunning screamthat willpoison Geralt.It willland prior to each scream,giving you an opportunity to deal damage if you can avoid being stunned.
Melusinewill not be grounded by a crossbow bolt.You will have to resort towell-timed cuts or Aardto down it when airborne.
It is most vulnerable on the ground, where you canland multiple hitsbefore it tries to fly away. Like other Ekhidna,Hybrid Oilwill deal additional damage to the monster. Remain vigilant when attacking it. Melusine willlash out with its clawswhen grounded, dealing a surprising amount of damage with each swipe.
Once you have killed it,search its body for the trophyand return to Kevan for your reward. He will pay the agreed sum of money but will ask Geralt totell Britt himself.
If youhad not picked up the contract,you will have to do so now. The quest will end after reporting your success to Kevan.
If youagreed to tell Britt, she will be grateful for Geralt’s help and offeran additional 25 crowns.The quest will end after this conversation, regardless of which option you chose.
