The treasures ofThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomare numerous in quantity, but few can compare to what lies hidden in a secret cave nestled within the looming shadow of Death Mountain. Of course, getting it is not a superbly easy task, but for the prize at the end, it’s a surprisingly straightforward adventure that rewards the curious.

Naturally, you’ll need to make sure you’re all stocked in your normal adventuring gear, but what you’ll really need is one good boulder-breaker and a sense of direction to find this one-of-a-kind treasure.
How To Complete The Treasure At The Lizard Lakes
To start this quest, you must firstcomplete the Fire Templeandgain Yunobo’s oathas a Sage of Fire. With theRegional Phenomenonof Eldin completedyou’ll be able to speak to and interact with the denizens of Goron City normally.
Travel to Goron Cityandspeak with the village elder, Bludo, at the center of town.He’ll tell you about aGoron treasure on the north side of Death Mountainyou can attempt to find.
It is possible to find and take the treasure of Death Mountain without accepting this quest and before completing the Regional Phenomena main quest. As such, it can be a free flame-retardant helmet to save you 1,400 rupees at the Goron City shop and not a bad time investment for those looking to save their wallet.
Your goal is to find thecave known as “Lizard’s Burrow.“In line with the hint, it is locatedon the cliffdirectlyin the center of the space between the lizards' heads.There are several ways to reach it.
If you’ve already done theBring Peace Questsor ventured to North Eldin for another reason, you canstart fromthe Sibajitak Shrine.Otherwise, you’re able to come from:
If you’re comingvia rail cart, you’ll need to take theright cart pathandjump off to the right at the halfway pointshortly after passing the Isisim Shrine area. From that point, you’ll need tocontinue traveling eastto your destination.
If you’re comingvia Sibajitak Shrine, you’ll only need totravel south and take a rightup the ledge pathpast the Monster-Control-Crew campand Monster Den.
From the western Goron City route, you’ll need to keep your head on a swivel for the horde of bokoblins led by a Boss Bokoblin patrolling the area. Although only Blue Bokoblins, they can pose a threat with their numbers (especially without Riju’s power).
The Lizard’s Den is justwest of Lake Darman’s Monster Denandeast of a slumbering Stalnox(which you must fight if you come through his area during the night) andtucked into the Death Mountain cliffside.
Theentrance can be easy to missas it has no striking visual indicators other than apile of breakable rocks.Break themwith either bombs or Yunobo’s special move, or any similar method.
Enter the cavern, and you’ll discover a chest on the far side of the cave. It’s unguarded, so don’t shy away from opening it straight away.
Inside will be theVah Rudania Divine Helm.Itprotects against firein the same way the Flame Breaker Armor, andin exchange for one point in defenses, Yunobo will also wear the Sage-versionof this helm whenever you have it equipped.
If you’d like anextra Bubbul Gem, there is aBubbul Frog hidden behind a breakable wall. As you turn from opening the chest, look to the hallway toward the entrance. To the right and slightly up are the breakable boulders you can destroy to reveal the frog. Climb up to defeat the frog and take its gem as an added treasure bonus.
