A distorted giant made of taught flesh and spewing magma, he acts as the final guardian to the remains of his fallen sister. As sad as it might be, he still stands between you and one of the Lord Souls. And so he needs to be defeated.

Depending on your play style, you might have a difficult time trying to damage him effectively. Fortunately, there’s an easier way to defeat him in as little as three hits on any build. Here’s everything you need to know when dealing with the Ceaseless Discharge.
How To Find The Ceaseless Discharge
A mandatory boss, you’ll have to come across the Ceaseless Discharge eventually. He is foundafterthe boss fight with Quelaag. After leaving the spider nest area, beyond the bell, you will see a bridge leading to the right in front of a large chasm of lava. This leads to the Ceaseless Discharge’s boss fight arena.
You canskip the Ceaseless Discharge fightby unlocking theChaos Servent shortcut. So in a way, he isn’t mandatory.
The boss isnot immediately hostile. Instead, he will stand there dormant until youeither attack him first or loot the gold-hemmed robesfrom the corpse in the back of the zone. Attacking him and dying will set him back to a dormant state, while looting the robes will permanently set him as hostile.
Recommended Character Builds
The Ceaseless Dischargestands off the edge of a large cliffside, making most of his body out of reach. You can only reach him when he deliversone of his powerful attacks. You can make the encounter more survivable withsome adjustments to your weapons and armor.
Recommended Armor
All of his attacks deal fire damage, so an armor set withhigh fire resistancewill be very helpful. Unfortunately, the only non-DLC or non-boss armor that aids in this is theBlack Knight set,and thegold hemmed robesyou get from this exact boss arena.
The black knight set is hard to acquire, while the robes offer too little physical protection. If you area dodge build, then the robes could work. Otherwise, we recommendany armor setoffering decent physical defense without slowing you down.
If you like shields,the Dragon Crestshieldis the easiest to get a hold of, offering 85 percent fire defense.
Recommended Weapons
He isimmune to fire damagebut has no other special attributes. So if you’re a melee build, your weapon of choice will do fine. Since he hangs outside the bounds of the arena,ranged weapons will offer more opportunities for attack, so we recommend magic or bows.

How To Beat The Ceaseless Discharge The Normal Way
The Ceaseless Discharge may hit like a truck, but his attacks are slow and generally easy to dodge. He hasfour attacks to watch out for.
Fire Blast
A shorter overhead slam that blasts fire further ahead.
Melee builds should focus on attacking his arms after an overhead slam or a fire blast since they linger there momentarily. The overhead slam can bedodged byrolling to the side. The sideways attack should berolled into, using the invincibility framesto go through the sweep. When rapid slamming,focus on avoiding the attacks, possibly getting out of range until it’s over.
It may be tempting to create distance and hide for a moment.Do not do this. Whenyou are out of his range, he will perform a fire blast that can reach you anywhere. It’sharder to avoid and harder to be resistant to the damage. Stay relatively close so that he continues to make his arm-swinging attacks.
Alternatively, wear the gold hemmed robes and try totank the fire damage from the blast, using his long recovery time to attack his limb. Then keep your distance long enough to instigate another fire blast.
Magic and ranged buildscan follow the advice above, but firing at his main body when possible.
How To Beat The Ceaseless Discharge The Easy Way
There’s a way to’cheese' the Ceaseless Discharge boss fight.Using this method, you may defeat him easily, safely, and with as little as a few punches.
First,go to the end of the arena, where the robes are, and draw his attention.verify he rips his arm off. You’ll know when this happens by the wet sound of ripping flesh.
Thenrun back to the beginning area of the arena, where you first entered. Stand as close to the fog gate as you may. Because of the steep ledge further ahead, he can’t reach you.
If done correctly,he will instead make a desperate leap in your direction, resulting in him clinging to the cliff edge. He will be stuck there, hanging over the chasm.Attacking his armwill make him lose his grip and fall to his death.
If heonly performs the fire attack, then he hasn’t ripped his arm off yet. You have to reach the end of the arena, where the robes were located, and return to the entrance.
This is anintentionally scripted special eventfor the boss, not a glitch or exploit. So don’t feel bad for utilizing it if you’re having trouble.
