There are lots of different weapons to use inSons Of The Forest, from the trusty crafted spear to the powerful Shotgun. They are located far and wide across the island, in caves, in holes, and elsewhere.

Tactical Axe Location
This is the first weapon you have access to in the game - the Tactical Axe is located in your Emergency Pack and can be opened in your inventory. You’ll need to this cut down wood and dispatch your first cannibals.
Modern Axe Location
The Modern Axe is located at an unmarked PoI shown in the image above. You’ll find it stuck into the chest of a dead soldier in the middle of the small camp.
Fire Axe Location
The Fire Axe is located at a dig site, marked on your screen by agreen pulsating light.
Once you’ve dug the hole, you can enter an underground maintenance area. You’ll find the axe inside a small box on the wall.

Machete Location
The Machete is located on the north part of the island, on the beach, stuck into the side of some life rafts. This area is really close to the Rebreather cave, just on the other side of the bay.
Katana Location
To actually get the Katana, you will already need to have acquiredthe shovelbecause you need to dig to access it.Here’s how to get the shovel in the game.
Once you’ve got to the shovel, head to the part of the map shown above. You’ll find a small cave entrance there, close to the green, pulsating light. Head down inside, then down the stairs to the door and use the keycard to access it.
Head down into the facility, dealing with the multiple mutants in your way (bring some heavy weaponry), and head down to level 2.
Putter Location
The Putter is located in another underground complex shown below. You will need to defeat a rather large mutant here,so come supplied with weapons.
You will find the Putter in the very back room.
Guitar Location
Located in another underground area, which you’re able to find by following the map above, the guitar is located in a karaoke bar.
You can find it on the bar, but there does seem to be an issue where it doesn’t spawn there for all players.

Chainsaw Location
You need both theMaintenance Keycardand theGuest Key Cardto access the area with the Chainsaw.
Located deep in another underground facility, you’ll also need the keycard to access this area. First, head to the cave at the location shown above.
Head down into the underground area and be prepared to kill mutants. Keep heading through the various rooms, then go up the two sweeping staircases. Cross the pool area and head to the door at the rear of the room, which you need theGuest Keycardto enter.
Go down the hallway. In the final room, you will find a man sat on a beanbag with the Chainsaw available to pick up.
Pistol
The Pistol is located on a red liferaft out to sea. You’ll need to head to its location (marked by a GPS ping on your map) and swim out, avoiding the shark at all costs.

Stun Gun Location
The Stun Gun is located in the same cave as the Rebreather. Instead of heading left once in the cave to retrieve the Rebreather,head to the right. There are multiple mutants in this cave so come prepared with explosives, molotov cocktails, and decent weapons.
Revolver Location
You need theShovelto access this weapon.
The Revolver is located at the dig site in the top right of the map, where there isn’t much else. You will recognize the area because there are two golf carts there. Dig down and open the maintenance hatch.
Head down the hall, then into the room on the right. You’ll find the Revolver in there on a body.
Crossbow Location
You need theShovelto access the Crossbow, and theMaintenance Keycard.
Once you’ve acquired the shovel and maintenance keycard, head to the area shown above.
Head down into the cave through the kitchen. you’re able to now access the maintenance door at the back. Take down a couple of mutants (babies & one of those creepy Finger ones) and you’ll find the Crossbow on a body located between the shelves. Make sure to pick up all the other bolts that are lying around.
Crafted Spear & Crafted Bow
These rudimentary tools can both be crafted from sticks, Duct Tape, and rope. To use the Crafted Bow, you’ll also need to craft arrows. To learn more about crafting,check out our guide here.
