Hollow Knightis a wonderfully macabre and understated journey through the eyes of a little bug known as the Knight. While small, Hollow Knight as a game has a ton of things to sink your teeth into as you explore the twists and turns of Hallow’s Nest.

For you achievement hunters out there, there are several to claim as you make your way through this tough game. Interestingly, it seems that the PlayStation version, Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition, lists 35 achievements on the PSN, while the Steam and Xbox versions – the same game by all accounts, complete with the same DLC – have 63 trophies to grab.
How To Get Every Achievement And Trophy
You might not expect Hollow Knight to be a particularly big game, but it is surprisingly extensive in so many ways. With the DLC added by the Voidheart Edition, the already substantial base game got a ton of more content. There are new bosses and even a boss-rush mode to conquer.
The Xbox and Steam versions include achievements for the new content added in the Voidheart edition, such as trophies for defeating other bosses. The PSN copy of Hollow Knight shows that there are only 35 trophies to grab, not taking into account the DLC and new content added in Voidheart.
Major spoilers for the whole game
Charmed
Acquire your first Charm.
Equip any charm you find. You will typically find your first one when you buy from the shop in Dirtmound after you find cartographer Cornifer.
Blessed
Acquire all Charms and receive Salubra’s blessing.
Gather all Charms and buy the Salubra’s Blessing item from Salubra. There are 45 charms, butyou need 40 to buy Salubra’s Blessing.
Protected
Acquire four Mask Shards.
Collect four Mask Shards to increase your max HP.Buy them from Sly in Dirtmouthor find them in the world.
Masked
Acquire all Mask Shards.
There are 16 Mask Shards in total. Collect all of them to unlock this achievement.
Collect three Vessel Fragments and upgrade your Soul once.
Worldsoul
Acquire all Vessel Fragments.
There arenine Vessel Fragments in total.Collect all of them to unlock this trophy.
Unlock five of the 11 Stag Stations around Hallownest.
Hope
Open all of Hallownest’s Stag Stations and discover the Stag Nest.
Unlock all Stag Stations around Hallownest. Once you find the tenth station, talk to the Last Stag to travel to the Stag Nest.
Grubfriend
Rescue half of the imprisoned grubs.
Find and rescue 23 Grubs in Hallownest. They are found in glass jars you must break to allow them to return to the Grubfather at the Forgotten Crossroads.
Rescue all 46 Grubs and return to the Grubfather.
Cartographer
Acquire a map of each area.
Find Cornifer the Cartographer in each main area to unlock the region map. There are 12 maps to buy from Cornifer:
Attunement
Collect 600 Essence.
Use the Dream Nail to collect Essence from Whispering Roots and defeat Dream Warriors and Dream Bosses. Once you have 600, talk to the Seer in the Resting Grounds.
Awakening
Collect 1800 Essence and awaken the Dream Nail.
Use the Dream Nail to collect Essence from Whispering Roots and defeat Dream Warriors and Dream Bosses. Once you have 1800, talk to the Seer in the Resting Grounds.
Ascension
Collect 2400 Essence and hear the Seer’s final words.
Use the Dream Nail to collect Essence from Whispering Roots and defeat Dream Warriors and Dream Bosses. Once you have 2400, talk to the Seer in the Resting Grounds.
Keen Hunter
Record all of Hallownest’s creatures in the Hunter’s Journal.
Once you get the Hunter’s Journal from the Hunter in the Greenpath, you may start unlocking entries.You must fill in 150 entries,but the DLC enemies don’t count. Kill an enemy to add it to the journal, and kill several of the same enemies to unlock more information about them.
True Hunter
Receive the Hunter’s Mark.
Unlock every entry in the Hunter’s Journal and kill enough of each enemy to fill in every section of the journal. When this is done, talk to the Hunter to get this.
Solace
Bring Peace to the Grey Mourner.
Complete the Delicate Flower quest. Speak to theGrey Mourner in the Resting Groundsand take the flower to the tombstone in the Queen’s Gardens. Return to the Grey Mourner to unlock the trophy.
Fool
Complete the Trial of the Fool.
Complete all waves in the third and final trial at the Colosseum of Fools.
Falsehood
Defeat the False Knight.
This is the first boss and one of the main bosses who must be defeated to progress.
Test of Resolve
Defeat Hornet in Greenpath.
You fight Hornet the first time you enter the Greenpath. Beat her here to unlock this.
Proof of Resolve
Defeat Hornet in Kingdom’s Edge.
You fight Hornet for a second time at theKingdom’s Edge. This is a more challenging fight than the first one. Beat her to unlock the achievement.
Watcher
Destroy Lurien, the Watcher.
ReachLurien’s physical body in the Watcher’s Spireand use the Dream Nail to enter the Dream World. Attack her Dream Form to unlock the trophy.
Beast
Destroy Herrah, the Beast.
ReachHerrah’s physical body in the Beast’s Denand use the Dream Nail to enter the Dream World. Attack her Dream Form to unlock the trophy.
Teacher
Destroy Monomon, the Teacher.
ReachMonomon’s physical body in the Teacher’s Archivesand use the Dream Nail to enter the Dream World. Attack her Dream Form to unlock the trophy.
Passing the Age
Aid the Herald in moving on.
Talk to the Mister Mushroom, otherwise known as the Herald, in all his locations and then beat the game.Find him in the following locations:
Heart of Hallownest
Acquire all other trophies.
Collect all the other 34 PSN trophies to unlock this achievement on the PlayStation. Once that is done, this achievement will unlock.
Grand Performance
Defeat Troupe Leader Grimm.
Use your Dream Nail on a bug corpse found behind a breakable wall in the Howling Cliffs. Summon the Troupe to Dirtmouth and beatTroupe Leader Grimm as part of the quest.
Ritual
Defeat the Nightmare King and complete the Ritual.
During the Grimm Troupe questline, choose not to banish the Troupe and fight the Nightmare King.
Banishment
Banish the Grimm Troupe from Hallownest.
During the Grimm Troupe questline, accept Brumm’s offer to Banish the Grimm Troupe. Choosing to do this will lock you out of the Ritual achievement.
Nightmare’s End
Complete the tale of the Grimm Troupe.

Clear the fourth boss-rush Pantheon in Godhome.
Embrace the Void
Ascend the Pantheon of Hallownest and take your place at its peak.
Clear the boss rush mode in Godhome. This is the fifth and final Pantheon. You must beat every single boss, of which there are 42, to unlock this achievement. You must clear all four other Pantheons to challenge this one.
Illumination
Defeat the Soul Master.
Beat the Soul Master main boss inthe Soul Sanctum.Doing so unlocks the Desolate Dive spell.
Respect
Defeat the Mantis Lords.
Beat the optional boss Mantis Lords.They are in the Mantis Village,blocking the entrance to Deepnest.
Honour
Defeat the Dung Defender.
Beat the Dung Defender, one of the main bosses.He is found guarding the entrance to Isma’s Grove. Reach him via the Royal Waterways.
Release
Defeat the Broken Vessel.
Beat the Broken Vessel, one of the main bosses.Found in the Ancient Basin, this boss guards the Monarch Wings upgrade.
Execution
Defeat the Traitor Lord
Beat the Traitor Lord, one of the main bosses.Found in the Queen’s Gardens.
Rescue and talk to Zote in the following locations:
This will get him to appear as a bonus enemyduring the Trial of the Warrior.He will only appear if you do this before tackling the Trial.
Neglect
Leave Zote to die.
When you find Zote in the Greenway for the first time, don’t free him from the Vengefly and leave him to die.This will lock you out of the Rivalry achievement.
Obsession
Defeat the Collector.
Beat the hidden boss the Collector. He is found in the Tower of Love in the City of Tears. To fight him, you need the Love Key and Isma’s Tear.
Peace
Defeat the Lost Kin.
Beat the hidden boss, Lost Kin. This boss is another version of the Broken Vessel, which can be found in the Ancient Basin.Use the Dream Nail on its corpseto enter the Dream World and fight.
Witness
Spend a final moment with Quirrel.
After beating Monomon the Teacher,find and talk to Quirrel in Blue Lake.You don’t need to find Quirrel in all his locations to progress his story.
Strength
Defeat the Failed Champion.
Beat the Failed Champion boss. To reach him, return to where you fought the False Knight and look for a breakable wall above the boss room. Use theDream Nail on his corpseto fight the Failed Champion.
Void
Remember the past and unite the Abyss.
Collect the two pieces of theKingsoul Charm and head to the bottom of The Abyss. Navigate through the maze until you reach a dead end with a large spherical machine. Hit it with yourAwoken Dream Nail and continue out of The Abyssto transform the Kingsoul into the Void Heart.
Dark Romance
Defeat Grey Prince Zote.
Beat the hidden boss Grey Prince Zote. To face him,you need to do three things:
With these prerequisites met, enter Bretta’s house and use your Dream Nail on the statue of Zote in the basement to challenge Grey Prince Zote.
Mortality
Defeat the Soul Tyrant.
Beat the Soul Tyrant boss. He is the dream version of the Soul Master.Use the Dream Nail on his corpsein the Soul Sanctum to face him.
Purity
Slay the Nailsmith with the Pure Nail.
Fully upgrade your Nail at the Nailsmith. Among other things, this requires you to collect thesix Pale Ore items in the game. Once you’ve done this, talk to the Nailsmith, and he will request you kill him with the Nail.Attack him and he will die.This trophy will lock you out of the Happy Couple achievement.
Happy Couple
Allow the Nailsmith to find a new calling.
Fully upgrade your Nail at the Nailsmith, but do not attack him. Leave, and he will go to theNailmaster’s Hut in the Greenway.Talk to him here to unlock the achievement.
The Hollow Knight
Defeat the Hollow Knight and Complete the game.
Clear the game and unlock thefirst ending. To do this, kill the Hollow Knightwithout acquiring the Void Heart Charm.
Sealed Siblings
Defeat the Hollow Knight with Hornet by your side.
Obtain the Void Heart charmand fight the Hollow Knight in the Temple of the Black Egg. Hornet will help you fight the Hollow Knight. Kill him to unlock this achievement.This is the second ending.
Dream No More
Defeat the Radiance and consume the light.
Defeat Radiance, the true final bossof Hollow Knight. With the Void Heart, face the Hollow Knight. When Hornet intervenes and holds the Hollow Knight, use your Dream Nail on the boss to be transported to a new arena, where you fight Radiance.This is the third ending.
Memory
Defeat White Defender.
Beat the hidden boss White Defender, who can only be fought after you have killed all three Dreamers and the Dung Defender. He is the dream version of the Dung Defender and requires youto use the Dream Nail on his corpse near his boss room.
Completion
Achieve 100 percent game completion and finish the game.
Beat the final boss, Hollow Knight, and reach 100 percent completion. Each thing in the game counts towards completion, but you don’t need to do everything; you only need to get to 100 percent. For example, all Charms count for 40 percent, and all abilities and collectables count for 38 percent. Beating bosses gets you 17 percent, and so on.
Speedrun 1
Complete the game in under ten hours.
Beat the final boss, Hollow Knight, in under ten hours of game time.
Speedrun 2
Complete the game in under five hours.
Beat the final boss, Hollow Knight, in under five hours of game time.
Speed Completion
Achieve 100 percent game completion and finish the game in under 20 hours.
Beat the final boss, Hollow Knight, in under 20 hours of game time. Each thing in the game counts towards completion, but you don’t need to do everything; you only need to get 100 percent. The best way is to do the bare minimum to get 100 percent and spend time efficiently.
Steel Soul
Finish the game in Steel Soul mode.
Steel Soul mode unlocks when you beat the game. This mode has perma-death, meaning your save is deleted upon getting a Game Over.
Steal Heart
Achieve 100% game completion and finish the game in Steel Soul mode.
Beat the final boss, Hollow Knight, in Steel Soul mode and get 100 percent completion.
Pure Completion
Achieve 112 percent game completion and finish the game.
This requires collecting every upgrade, fighting every boss, beating the Pantheons, collecting every Charm, and so on. 112 percent is the maximum in the game. When you reach this, defeat the final boss, and the achievement will unlock.
