The open world ofGenshin Impactis already huge, and it gets bigger with almost every update. The Archon, World, and Story Quests are the bread and butter of the game. If you’re someone who loves exploring, you have to finish certain World Quests to unlock the secret areas in every region.

This is especially true for Sumeru since half of the Rainforest and the Desert are locked behind their respective quests. Monumental Study is one of these quests that can only be unlocked after fitting certain criteria, and you’ll be up against the Fatui in this one.
How To Unlock Monumental Study Quest
As soon as you enter the northern areas of the Desert from the path to the south, you’ll start aquest named Khvarena of Good and Evil.This quest will take you on a journey to find all the Korybantes and the Great Songs of Khvarena. Once you have all the items, you have to get rid of the corruption in Tunigi Hollow.
This will open the hole in the middle of this area, which will lead you directly inside Harvisptokhm. In the final stretch,you’ll have to get three hearts through different methods to remove the Signs of Apaosha. Though you don’t have to finish the entire Khvarena quest to be able to get Monumental Study.
Some special dialogue will be thereif you start this quest after finishing the first onewhere Nasejuna will be mentioned.
To acquire the quest, simplyhead over to the Statue of the Seven in Gavireh Lajavard and head in the southern direction. You’ll see the blue quest icon on the map, which will lead you to Sosi, a member of the Order of Skeptics.
How To Investigate Fatui Camps
Sosi will ask you to do two things in this quest. First,you’ll have to investigate the Fatui camp in the area since they are trying to investigate the monumentas well. Once the dialogue ends, your quest marker will update to an area nearby with a Fatui camp. As you get to it, Traveler and Sorush will attempt to talk to them first.
Since they’re the Fatui,they’ll instantly start attacking you at first sight. Defeat the members in the first camp and look for sparkling spots where you’ll find some notes. Read these notes to update your quest to the next camp, which will be your next destination.
Defeat the Fatui in the second camp and read the notes once again to mark the third camp.
The notes will be found insidethe bigger tent when it comes to the second camp, and they’re quite hard to miss.
At this point, you’ll have to head over to the main menu and put the time between 10:00 and 14:00. After doing that, follow the quest to the third camp and then thefootsteps outside it to reach Markozov, the Fatui chief overseeing the operation. Talk to him and defeat the Fatui members to finish the first part of the quest.
How To Find All Monument Fragments
Once you finish the first part, the quest will update andyou’ll have to locate four monument fragments scattered in the area. Navigating these quests won’t mark the location of these fragments, but it’ll open a certain note that gives you a hint about where these fragments can be found:
First Monument Fragment Location
One of the clues will mention that you can find a fragment guarded by Barsom’s familiar. This is quite an easy fragment to acquire.Teleport to the Waypoint near the Tree of Barsom to the north of Vourukasha Oasis. Keep heading north until you see a giant tree with pink leaves on it.
There’ll be an opening that’ll let you go in the tree trunk when you get close.You’ll find the fragment here, but you’re able to’t see it if you’re using any character. To find these fragments, you have to switch to Sorush and press your Elemental Skill when you’re near them.
Second Monument Fragment Location
If you’ve done the Khvarena of Good and Evil quest,you’ve already been to the Vourukasha Oasis multiple times. This is where you’ll find the second fragment, and you have to teleport to the southern Waypoint in the area, as shown above.
You can switch to Sorush as soon as you teleport andyou’ll find the fragment a little to the left of where you were looking when you teleported. It’ll be right above a little rock near the river’s edge.
Third Monument Fragment Location
The fragment that’s guarded by thorns is likely thehardest one to get since it isn’t in any special area. To get this fragment, you have to teleport to the Waypoint marked on the map above. Once you teleport, you’ll be looking toward a cliff that’ll let you fall down.
Reach the edge of this cliff and then use Sorush to fly down.You’ll find the fragment right in front of the Nirodha Fruit holder on the tree branch.
Fourth Monument Fragment Location
The final fragment islocated in the Tunigi Hollow area to the west of Vourukasha Oasis. This area will have multiple spike-like tree branches all around it. The spike to the north will be the highest, and that’s where you’ll find the final fragment.
Teleport to the Waypoint north of Tunigi Hollow and climb to the cliff that’ll bring you close to the top of this branch.Once you’re there, use Sorush and fly to the top to claim the fragment. After having all the fragments, head over to the monument where you’ll have to place the fragments and defeat some Fatui again.
