Despite all this, the Bastion can still be beaten with relative ease if you plan your attack correctly. With this guide, you’ll be able to smash their Portals and bring down the Unbreakable faster than you can say “Diamond Pickax!” Read on for all the best tips for reducing the Horde of the Bastion to rubble.
Horde Of The Bastion Piglins
While the basic piglins in the Horde of the Bastion aren’t any stronger than those of the other Hordes, their elite units are some of the most dangerous in the game.
Brutesare burly piglins who can really take a hit. They’re more suited to defense than attack, but they can still knock off several hearts from your Hero with one hit;keep them occupied with melee mobswhile your Plank Golems wear them down.
Portal Guardsare some of the most dangerous piglins in the entire game. Their swinging ball and chain deals an enormous amount of damage, and it can send both you and your mobs flying! If you see one of these baddies,order your entire army to focus on themto take them down as quickly as possible - this is one piglin you can’t afford to have on the battlefield.
Despite their name, Portal Guard can appear with any group of Horde of the Bastion piglins, not just near Portals. Watch out for them while defending Villages, because they can smash walls single-handedly!
How To Destroy A Horde Of The Bastion Base
If you have the time and the resources, you cansoften up a Bastion fortress with Redstone Launchers, but in most cases you’ll eventually have to lead an army inside to reach the Portal. Most of their walls are too high to be scaled with ramps, so you’ll have toclimb the stairs to the main entrance.
Bring plenty of Cobblestone Golems - you’ll need them todestroy the gates between each section of the fortress.Be careful when you approach the gates yourself - if you’re fast, you can get through an open gate before it slams shut, but that will trap you alone on the other side with a bunch of angry piglins!
Past each gate (or pair of gates, on higher-level bases) is usually a narrow corridor that you’ll have to cross to reach the next set of stairs. Stick close to your mobs, sending your Cobblestone Golems totear down every building in your path.When you destroy a Nether Spreader, clear away the leftover Netherrack and build spawners and towers to give yourself a mini-base.
Thanks to the tight quarters inside a Horde of the Bastion base, Creepers can wreak havoc in large numbers!
Eventually, you’ll reach the top of the fortress where the Portal waits. It’s a good idea todestroy at least a few of the nearby towers and barracksto give your mobs some breathing room before attacking the Portal itself. You’ll probably have to deal with some Portal Guards as well; save some resources for Zombies, Skeletons, and Creepers to make the fight easier.

How To Defeat The Unbreakable
After you destroy the last Portal belonging to the Horde of the Bastion, their leader - a formidable piglin called the Unbreakable - will build a new fortress somewhere on the map. Defeating the Unbreakable is the only way to stop the Horde of the Bastion for good!
The Unbreakable’s fortress is similar to the others, butevery building inside can self-repair.If you attack a building, either with a Redstone Launcher or with mobs,be sure to destroy it completelyor else it will eventually return to full health!
The Unbreakable waits at the top of the fortress; they start off alone, but will summon reinforcements as the fight goes on. The Unbreakable has a tendency to focus on the nearest opponent, sosend a large group of Zombiesto keep the boss distracted while your Skeletons and Plank Golems fire away.
If they aren’t otherwise engaged, the Unbreakable will attempt to shoot at you with their arm cannon!
The Unbreakable’s main attack is aflamethrower that affects a large area around them.Most mobs will burn to a crisp, sokeep your Plank Golems awayand be ready to spawn in Mossy Golems toheal your Zombies after each fire.
The boss has a lot of health, and will instantly construct towers and barracks as they take damage. When that happens,split your mobsbetween fighting the Unbreakable and destroying the buildings. Keep fighting until the boss goes down, and the fortress will crumble as well!
