Stage Five of Onion Ocean inKirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxehas you taking on the boss fight of this stage, the Fatty Puffer. This puffer fish has a lot of tricks up its sleeve, and, as you might expect, it acts similar to how an actual puffer fish might.

It often inhales deeply to puff itself up and make itself a bigger presence in the arena, meaning you have less room to manoeuvre Kirby and his attacks. However, once you know what kind of attacks it has in its arsenal, and when you should be attacking, you’ll be able to take down this oversized fish with ease.
Copy Ability Choices
You havefour Copy Abilities to choose fromwhen fighting this boss:
You’ll want to go withthe Mecha Copy Ability, as it gives you the most options when attacking. Pick up your chosen Copy Ability and head down to the right to find the star door. Enter here to find the boss room.
How To Defeat The Fatty Puffer
The Fatty Puffer will inhale air, inflate just like a puffer fish, and then charge at you. When it starts inhaling,jump up into the air to dodge it when it charges.
After it tries this attack, it will deflate, then resort tojumping around the area, trying to slam into you. Make sure to jump to dodge this.
The Fatty Puffer will alsospit out smaller puffer fishthat will damage you on contact. You can dodge these, or hit them to rebound them back at the boss, depending on which Copy Ability you chose. It can alsospit out water, so ensure to dodge this whenever it starts.
Get your hits on the Fatty Pufferin between dodging its attacks, and you’ll soon whittle it down to half health.
When you have reduced its health by half, it will start to inhale lots of air andinflate even bigger than before, taking up almost the entire boss arena with its size.Be careful not to get trapped against the side of the arenawhen it charges for you.
When it deflates, it may start toshoot a huge blast of water. You’ll need tojump up to dodge this and avoid getting stuck in the blast.
Additionally, the Fatty Puffer may nowstart to slam on the ground, causing the stalactites on the ceiling to come loose. Make sure you’re not directly underneath them, otherwise they’ll land on you and hurt you.
Whenever the Fatty Puffer starts to inhale air or has just deflated,this is when you can start hitting it. Otherwise, make sure you’re dodging all the attacks it throws your way.
Once it’s defeated, you’ll getthe left wing for the Lor Starcutter.
